  • I had tacos on Sunday. It’s okay. Those look good!

  • Sure, he's done. He destroyed agencies which regulate him or against which he had a grudge, fucked up regulation and the social safety net, arranged other things to make rich people money, compromised personal data for basically everyone and helped his buddy Putin. Why stick around?

  • Wow, the pi constant naming inconsistency is terrible.

  • How much is normally in there? And how?

  • Oh, I see. Just an idea. I was wondering if maybe they'd block or redirect you.

  • The prices vary based on how much usable meat there is in the cut vs. bones, and how much work went into cutting it. Wings are mainly bones for instance. It can also be how fast it sells, so the risk the packages will spoil before they're sold and what quantities they order or produce it in.

  • You can go to grocery store sites and set your location to a specific store, and look up items.

Anyway I looked it up at my local Walmart (Arizona, US) and boneless breasts are $2.69 a lb, boneless skinless thighs, 3.49, and wings, $1.19 a lb. Ten lbs of chicken leg quarters, $6.50. So it doesn't seem to have gone up a lot.

  • Yeah. I have celiac and would very much regret eating a sleeve of saltines.

  • Despite the constant negative press covfefe

As long as we’re here I’ll also mention how this degenerate cretin also insisted on using his own private Android phone rather than one issued by the government. I’d say it’s 100% certain his phones have been hacked as shit for at least 10 years.

  • Not surprising considering the velveeta treason weasel himself is the type of clueless boomer who says things like his son is "very good with the cyber" and "everything is computer". I highly doubt he could power his phone off without help.

  • I use hyphens a fair bit but don't even know how to make an emdash in comments. As an HTML element, sure.

  • America's Ace of Aces. There's a bridge connecting Superior, WI and Duluth, MN called the Bong Bridge.

  • If Trump’s goal was really to bolster domestic manufacturing and other industries, I support that. The way he’s going about tariffs has been incredibly dumb though. One, he seems to think it’s a way to punish a country. It’s not clear why he’s picking the biggest fights with our allies, either. Claiming it’s about fentanyl and migrants is absurd. Then also, the admin has regularly lied about who pays tariffs and how they work. Trump also says incredibly stupid things like “once we have hundreds of billions in tariffs coming in, we’re going to be so rich”.

And if he really wanted to encourage people to switch to domestic production, introducing them gradually would make more sense to give companies time to build factories and whatnot. But also they’re not going to make investments with no guarantee that the tariffs will be around d in 5 years. Also, there are some products that simply can’t be produced in the US because we don’t have the resources - why tax those? Such as fertilizers and lumber from canada? What’s the point? Why not just selectively tariff things for industries he wants to promote?

So in real life it seems Trump is just harming consumers, picking fights with our allies, regressive shifting tax burdens, and wrecking the economy. Hmm.

  • Huh, that's what a pick me is? I hadn't understood that previously. I thought it was someone who tried to suck up and pander to people, so I guess about the opposite.

Anyway, I get pretty annoyed at people like that. I've had friends who do the opposite, where they're engaged and silly and energetic one-on-one, then when they get around other people, go into "cool mode" where they're low key, low energy, and sorta negative about me.

  • I figured at first it's some sort of scam. But then, someone mentioned that it could actually be an anti-Nicole operation, like someone with a grudge against her is trying to get people angry with her, and trying to get people to go troll her discord or whatever. One thing I'm sure of is it's not a normal way for people to interact on Lemmy.

  • I use it for almost everything. I only resort to Google if I can't find what I'm looking for, which is rare and typically it's something obscure. Google has also steadily made their service worse over the years. I don't feel like I am missing much.

  • I wish I could. It's hard to get a community started on any new site where people have to make accounts and get in the habit of going there. The network effect is tough to overcome, too... people go where other people are, and then those places have content, and most people consume content, not create it. Also Reddit will ban you for promoting Lemmy, even through DMs.
