  • The three Democrats who removed their names from an ultimately inconsequential resolution have only managed to spawn dirt for right-wing propaganda. These people are utterly incapable of operating effectively in the current political climate and should just resign so someone who isn't so embarrassingly stupid can do the job.

  • They're both fighting for the same niche. Sort of like Lauren Boebert and MTG. The whole operation has never been a team effort, just a bunch of self-serving assholes trying to get their own grift on.

  • Most Democrats I want to see doing a lot more. Not her, not Joe, and not Hilary. They can and should disappear from the public eye. They had a direct and significant role in causing all of this.

They stink of loser and ego and corruption and morass. Go away.

  • Because there's no reason to write a headline that implies this is an open question. The answer is no, and implying it could be anything but no is irresponsible. Someone reading a headline alone should be told that so if that's all they read they don't think the answer is more complicated than that.

  • Holy shit. I thought this was clearly intentional propaganda targeting the very extremely dumb that would take the mistaken impression from it without any of them being on record saying the fake part, but did no one tell him?

  • Oh, well if you're not clumsily trying to entrap people with your week old account, then this is a really dumb post.

You don't need other people to do violence, and if you're trying to organize violence on a larger scale you sure as shit shouldn't be doing it on a public message board.

  • These aren't the fascists, they're enablers. Just as culpable for the fascism, but doing it in pursuit of a facade of being above such trivial things as the real world context of the complaint.

Fuck these spineless failures whistling their way to the grave.

  • Hard to take every seat in Congress, but if they just steal a couple dozen Democratic seats in red states that's enough to secure control of the House and the only recourse for that is likely open insurrection.

  • I didn't nor did the vast majority of the country due to either voting blue or not living in a state where presidential votes even matter, but it's perfectly reasonable for other nations to not trust that the United States' broader system and political climate will be reliable in maintaining its policies and relationships.

But they also should have been more independent in the first place. We've been doing bad things for a while now while our Western allies just rode along because it was easier to demonstrate fealty than stand up for what was right.

The neoliberal system in the US has paved the road for something much more abhorrent, but the broader Western liberal world order is also in a rotten state. Germany, Canada, Australia, France, and the UK all have had (and generally still do have) serious risks of empowering their own fascists and few are reflecting on how to defend from and depower them. They just think that holding them off for an election means the problem is over and they can go back to the generic neoliberal policy that's doing nothing for people and playing into right-wing talking points on debt and immigration.

Lots of Americans breathed a sigh of relief with Biden, went back to brunch, and then just accepted it as business as usual when the centrists immediately pivoted to obstruction to prevent any movement leftward. The return of The System and the status quo were our armor against Trumpism. Don't make that same mistake.

  • Several lawmakers who talked to Bolts since the session ended pinned the failure of the 287(g) ban primarily on a general fear that the Trump White House could seek to punish Maryland if it passed the ban—that is, make life even harder on immigrants in the state than it is today, as retribution for anti-287(g) reform.

Cowardly Democrats always talking themselves around to inaction being the optimal move.
