  • So does the soundtrack imo. Idk why, but a lot of the songs are incredibly moving to me. Especially the track March, which plays a couple times in the game but most notably during the scene when you float up in the sky with a bubble.

  • I like Paleo Pines myself. It's like Stardew and Animal Crossing had a baby about dinosaurs. It's absolutely adorable.

Chao Resort Island. A fan game that's basically a 2D/3D Chao Garden from SA2. It uses some sprites from the old Sonic Advance games, but it's just a fun little virtual caregiver thing.

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle: Chao Garden. The "true" Chao Garden experience according to fans online. I have the steam version so I have the popular Extended Chao World mods to make it better/easier to raise Chao.

A lot of survival crafting games (base building and decorating and such) can be cozy too, if you want them to be.

  • That's like calling the English Australians speak as "sub-english."

Also it just sounds wrong to refer to a dialect of a language as "sub-language" almost like you're referring to people of a certain racial or ethnic group as "sub-people." Just my two cents.

  • Seriously. Especially for Spider-Man 2, as it only gives you suits that you'll already unlock from playing the game normally.

They did the same thing for the first game.

Still, glad they're making it optional at all.

Edit: I'm also kinda glad that it's not something that's like, actually "exclusive" to tying your PSN to the game, like a costume that you can't get by regularly playing the game.

  • I played the demo/playtest and it was pretty cool. The physics-based building makes expanding your settlement a bit of a puzzle, especially paired with the resource management of researching new technologies and keeping your settlers fed and happy.

I will say I think there should be difficulty settings or customization sliders. Towards the end of the demo it gets harder and harder to feed your growing population.

ETA: resource building output needs to be increased as well. Raincatchers produce one unit of water every 2:30 minutes, only during a rainstorm that maybe lasts 5 minutes tops for a long one.

  • Spaceballs, The Matrix trilogy (I was born in 1996), What Dreams May Come (possibly; I was too young to realize that he was dead and in the afterlife for the entire thing)

Honestly I can't think of any from my childhood other than those that might have been "bad" for a kid, other than shows that went right over my head like Family Guy and the like. I know I wasn't allowed to watch South Park until I just decided to start watching it when I was around 13.

Other movies that I really liked as a kid (other than Spaceballs cause it was kinda like Star Wars, and The Matrix) that may be kinda suggestive were Mystery Men, Galaxy Quest, and Titan A.E. They may like Lord of The Rings (Arwen and Eowyn + magic and swords) and possibly Star Wars (Padmé and Princess Leia, plus Ahsoka from Clone Wars and Hera from Rebels). Although I'm a man and had an older brother that liked a lot of this stuff, so I ended up liking a lot of it too, you may get better results from other people.

  • Also in the game, literally a third of the NPCs aren't white or British. Half of the student companion quests are about students who aren't white. They talk about other countries and the other schools all the time in side dialog. Four of your teachers aren't even from Britain in the game.

I really feel like they tried to distance it as much as possible from JK's harry potter and I honestly kinda liked it.

But I do still understand that a small portion of what I paid for the game went to Rowling and I do feel a little bad about it. But most of it went to the studio that made it, some went to Steam.

  • I played on PC, and had a great time. Like the other person said, it wasn't intended for such a casual machine.

I really liked the interactive items, even though they were useless. It was fun to try roleplaying as a student sometimes. I didn't find the enemies to be too clustered either. My personal favorite thing was flying around on the broom. The game world is pretty big so you have plenty of room to just do your thing.

  • I wish. I will say that the devs understood that JK is an absolute piece of shit, and put things in the game that would probably piss her off specifically.

There's at least one lesbian witch couple (who are married, and somewhat interracial), and then there is a confirmed trans witch in the game as well. Playing the game I thought "this is just a big middle finger to Rowling."

  • I tried out every weapon I could. I leveled each weapon that I could as well, cause I liked seeing what I would get and how I liked playing with it.

I ended up being pretty balanced in play styles and how I leveled my character. Last time I played I was like level 150-something, just to see how high I could go. You start getting very diminishing returns around 120 or so, getting only one point per level, and each of those points only increasing a fraction of each skill.

  • Damn, I'm surprised to see a Lunacid post on Lemmy

Edit: I recently did a playthrough with a vampire character. I kinda power-leveled some stats though, basically just running my way up and down the game's entire map killing enemies over and over. I got into a decent rhythm for the combat because I had a decent enough Dex so I would just jump to dodge certain attacks if I couldn't kite them.

Certain spells can be pretty OP throughout the game if you focus on your magic skills. Flame Spear can honestly carry you through most of the game if you focus entirely on magic.

All that said I actually liked the Vampire "class" as it felt a bit more forgiving for most of the game (except the sewer area). I'm kinda working on collecting all the items so I can get the last ending.
