  • Start playing more indie games with passion behind them and less AAA money grabbing half polished turds they keep pumping out. It's the only way out of this mess.

  • Yep, many fast food places are already implementing AI taking orders in the drive thru, not to mention all the kiosks in the lobby. Only a matter of time until making the food is automated and all there will be is a skeleton crew of workers to make sure everything is running smooth.

  • I would assume it's assigned seating, could be wrong. Man's looks like he would have moved if he could have.

  • That poor man sitting in between those two...

  • Makes me think about the video with the huuuuge bulky black man thought everyone pooped in their hands and caress it gently into the water.

  • My man I just quickly crunched some numbers to find a average, of course you have variance in the spending habits of players from person to person.

Crazy that people can throw money away like you described though, they must live in a totally different world than most people. And getting banned for having more resources is honestly the funniest thing to happen from dumping money into a f2p game.

  • Sounds a lot like the banking system today lol.

Edit: Idk why all yall turds down voted me. The u.s. dollar is literally not backed by any physical asset..... look up fiat money and do research on the dollar.

  • I see what they're doing. Stress her out enough to kill her. Classic.

  • So with some quick math, if everyone that played the game spent the same amount of money each person would have spent $126 on it.

  • Every day I want to get another headset again a little bit more.

  • Well yea, if you buy any digital game anywhere but GoG, I don't know any others that have policies like theirs, you're basically just renting it, you dont buy the game you just buy the license. GoG has a system set up to where you actually own the game, and if they went out of business tomorrow, you could still play your games fine.

Let's say you happen to buy a game or dlc off of a second-hand site and redeem it on steam, origin, or whatever launcher. You use it, and it works, and you play for a while, no problem. Well, if that key you bought is flagged for whatever reason, and the publishers of said game can decide to revoke the license you bought, and that's a wrap. Because that's all you're buying, even straight from steam or anywhere else - just a license. I used the second-hand website as an example because it does happen there. I haven't really heard anything happening on legit purchases straight from a vendor, but the legal wording is all there, and what I described is possible.

  • "Wait, you cannot escape. NEVER RUN AWAY FROM THE TIME POLICE, YOU WILL NOT SURVIVE."

  • All these psychopaths saying kill the cat or catch it and relocate it are fucking deranged. Talk to the owners if you know who it is... firstly, I'm sure they would at least be receptive to the problem and if they're not then maybe look into legal outlets. If you've gone out of your way to post on lemmy you're technically savvy enough to look up local laws. people have also posted actual remediation methods that aren't terrible and could actually improve your lawn in some scenarios as well so maybe try those out if you're into them.

I'm positive that no one wants to lose a pet in any capacity. Just some simple communication with the owners could solve this, and if not, there are other options.

Sorry you're going through this though, shit sucks. Pun intended.

  • I don't have an issue with the pricing I was just explaining why I think the pricing isn't an issue (didn't really state this clearly) strictly due to economic pressures and giving just a little bit of background as to why. Because honestly like you said, games historically have been more expensive in the past. And they have lightned up on prices in the past two decades only to gradually increase them with tons of time in between for whatever reason they site.

Just another thought here but I honestly think the micro transaction economy we've gotten in games the past few years probably stifled the price increase just a little longer.

  • Yea people seem to forget the pricing of n64 catridges back when it was the hot thing like ps5, etc is today. It was actually insane. Considering inflation too, you were paying a lot more for a single game then.

  • The last time games were increased in price I was in grade school, 50 to 60, a 10 dollar increase. I wrote a letter to nintendo actually and got a response basically saying costs were up in the nicest way you could to a child.

That was well over 15 years ago, so the extra 10 they tacked on was honestly coming eventually. Everything else in life is getting expensive so of course it was only a matter of time until it reached this part of our lives, its really basic economics.

A comparison to keep in mind is also that we were still buying physical copies of games when the last increase happened, now we are strictly digital for a large majority of purchases while this next increase has happened.

But luckily this increase in price seems to be a trend only taken on by AAA companies, which are hit and miss in their titles lately imo, so most will be on sale in a year and you won't ever have to pay 70 unless you are really into that title. Most indie companies are pricing their games at around 30-40 dollars right out of the gate and honestly have more of the spirit of what video games should be.

  • But if your hand isn't cramping are you really power washing? INEEDIMMERSION.

  • Just an update on his response that I will edit out only names and identifying remarks.

"My thoughts? I could write an encyclopedia. You just went down a rabbit hole that enters a wonder land of nightmares. Francis is an "anti-pope." We had them before in history. Your (cousin) is in the middle of a civil war in the Catholic Church. It is about ready to spill out into the secular world and vice versa. It's a great time to be alive."

He's generally a great person to be around, I actually play TTRPG's with him. He respects my beliefs about spirituality without being overly pushy about his. He's been in the peace corps, and has worked for the state with helping children that are affected by terrible situations as well as hqving done many other generally good things though his life. I only say this because of the context of this discussion which isn't in the best of light which does not reflect his over all character at all.
