She’s already said she won’t run at the next election. But if she steps down now, the republicans can refuse to let a new democrat sit on the judiciary committee, then the Republicans can just deadlock the vote to appoint any new federal judges (exactly like they did when she was on sick leave).
This is demonstrably false. If you get a brand new Tesla and charge it to 100%, the range on the screen will be the EPA range. That’s not a “rosy” prediction, that’s the prediction that companies must legally use in their sales material in the US.
Also, the BI article says this was 10 years ago, but the Reuters article opens talking about the Model 3, which was only released 5 years ago. But it’s coming from an unnamed source who claims it was a decade ago - not exactly reliable.
Tesla don’t get to decide how they rate their mileage - they have to follow the EPA testing procedure. If they use any figure other than the EPA figure, they’ll be breaking the law.
The fact that the EPA testing procedure doesn’t match real-world conditions is the problem. And it’s not one Tesla can solve.
In Australia, if you were born here, you’re Australian. That’s it. I have lots of friends whose parents are from all over the world - UK, Ireland, Italy, Greece, India, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, The Phillipines, NZ. Almost 50% of Australians have a parent who wasn’t born here.
But if you ask any of those first generation Australians where they’re from, they’d all say Australia - not their parents country.
The American obsession with race/lineage/DNA tests is just weird.
You can’t be sociopathic and psychopathic - they’re different points on the same (ASPD) spectrum. Please learn what words mean before throwing them around.
I think I agree with their central point, but the writing is terrible. Legitimately reads like the author forgot to take their ADHD medication before writing it.
Yeah, publicly owned power isn’t all up-sides. In my state the government owns the power company, and for a long time we’ve had the most expensive power in the Country. That only changed when the invasion of Ukraine caused gas prices to skyrocket (because my state extracts huge amounts of gas, and the government gets it at a fixed price).
Sounds like your government doesn’t want you getting energy independence. Australia was like that 10+ years ago, but now it’s super easy. There are only 2 forms (one for the inverter, one for the panels) and the installer fills it all out for you. Systems <5kW per phase don’t even need prior approval, the installer just submits paperwork after the job is done. The only time it costs you, is if you need your old meter upgraded to a smart meter.
They definitely use incandescent globes for heating as well. I just remember when I had fish, the shops would advertise neon heat lamps for terrariums. (I think it might have had something to do with infrared heating, but I’ve never had a terrarium so I’m kinda guessing now.)
If that’s old-school it’ll be neon, modern ones get the same look with LEDs. If it’s flickering slightly, it’s neon.
Large ones are pretty rare these days, because they’re horribly inefficient at turning electricity into light. The main place you’ll still find them are as heating lamps (for things like terrariums).
ETSI isn’t responsible for “the encryption standard” - they’re responsible for the TETRA standard. TETRA isn’t encryption - it’s a type of radio system, that has encryption as one small part of it. (I know plenty about TETRA - I’ve designed transmission networks for TETRA systems.) I’ve worked on DAMM and Leonardo systems, they’re completely European designed and built, there’s no ITAR regulations on them.
Humans aren’t much different. 99.9% of what we create is just a remix of existing parts/ideas. It’s why people spend 12-20 years pre-training on all the existing knowledge in the field they’re going to work in.
