Ask for help on the Grapheneos matrix channel. I do not have this problem on mine but they are more knowledgeable about this kind of stuff.
Also unless you use google services, you won't get notifications if you do this (use the at rest encryption with passphrase).
I was gifted a reverb g2 some years ago. It was ok, had some problems getting custom bindings to work in Skyrim VR that killed the game for me. I want the index next since it will have linux support and hopefully won't die like WMR did but I also want to wait for the next index, whatever upgraded headset they make next.
They also use device ID. You need a new device that has never interacted with reddit before (with a VPN and different email). They also look at the subs you subscribe to. The amount of info they collect is invasive, fuck 'em.
Are you able to remember a strong password? If you can then you can use something like KeePass, it is an offline password manager (and authenticator) that you can use on your phone and PC and backup the file anyway you want, in storage and the cloud. It is very easy to import and export.
Use the 3-2-1 rule for storing your vault:
Maintain three copies of your data: This includes the original data and at least two copies.
Use two different types of media for storage: Store your data on two distinct forms of media to enhance redundancy.
Keep at least one copy off-site: To ensure data safety, have one backup copy stored in an off-site location, separate from your primary data and on-site backups.
I have a Bitwarden vault for passwords and a KeePass vault for TOTP. I would use at least 2 Yubikeys as well but I'm using degoogled Grapheneos. I hate email and SMS verification for MFA, and my stupid banks only support these two methods.
I was against it because I wanted to do screenshots or alternative front ends for any twitter links. You should also be able to provide an original source for a tweet, like an archive link. I didn't comment because I knew my opinion/vote on this didn't matter. Not only do the majority hate twitter (with little interest in fact-checking tweets), but I also don't donate and saw that my 1 non-donation vote equates to nothing in the comments of that thread. Now the only thing users can do is screenshots, which is pretty disappointing. This and another big mod reason is making me so disillusioned with this instance.
Have you looked at CeraVe in the tub?
My understanding is it is hormonal and governed by androgens, testosterone, and DHT. Depending on a man's levels and how sensitive their follicles are, it will affect how their scalp or beard grows. It can also be genetic/inherited and they are more likely to bald as they get older. Medication is usually aimed at hormonal causes and combined with something like minoxidil, which is a vasodilator.
Women also go through something similar, except the beard part for most women.
Does Lemmy have less personal stories than Reddit because users are more wary of doxxing themselves?
It's from the tv show Breaking Bad.
Does Lemmy have less personal stories than Reddit because users are more wary of doxxing themselves?
I know I am wary of doxxing myself, there's so many times I've withheld commenting because my stories are too specific. I've probably shared too much already and do think about just starting over with a new account sometimes. This is my 4th account by now?
I hate TSA, fucking security theater. I recently had a trip to a doctor that involved flying and going there was fine. I need a wheelchair because I can't walk long distances, like I can't even do grocery shopping anymore, but I can walk short distances. I went through the scanner, no fuss. But coming back home, TSA asked me if I could use the scanner. I told them I could. They decided to do a pat down instead, a very thorough pat down while I remained in the wheelchair. I was trying to avoid a pat down, I've had some SA in the past and do not like being touched. They let me go after the pat down and I tried to avoid being upset. I felt molested but what can I do? That was some real BS.
CW: child abuse, abortion, sexual assault, suicidal ideation
I think if a fetus has an abnormality the parents don't want, then they can choose to abort once it is caught. But once the infant is born, the parents shouldn't be able to back out. I don't have children, I might have them one day, so I don't know if I'll ever change my mind if I end up having a kid with a serious disability that wasn't caught in time for an abortion. There are some conditions where the kid doesn't even survive childhood. That sounds really heartbreaking but I couldn't bring myself to basically kill a child.
I am physically and mentally disabled myself and it has been a struggle. I haven't had kids yet because my disability has made me permanently low income and I don't know if I have the strength and energy to raise a child. I am female so I would be carrying and birthing the baby and breastfeeding and all that jazz, unmedicated because my medication causes birth defects. There are times I want to die, I find myself drifting towards researching suicide methods. But it is my choice, it should never be anyone else's. Certainly not my asshole parents' decision.
I would like to say that if a parent wants to back out, the kid can go to a loving home in foster care. However, foster care is very bad in my area and I've heard very tragic tales from children that end up in their care. I don't know why, I don't know if it is a budgeting issue, but abusive foster parents in my area with clear mental and anger problems are allowed to foster anyway as well as typical abusive religious nutjobs. My parents were pretty abusive to me, one was the narcissistic abuser and the other was the enabler. I have PTSD from them and so do my siblings. And yet we ended up better than the foster kids I've heard from. I still would advocate for fixing the foster care system rather than killing all those children. My parents told me if I called CPS, I would be raped in foster care. It scared me enough to keep quiet about the abuse. Turns out it does happen, I know kids that went through that, and it is fucked up. I'm not saying every foster kid goes through this but I would never take that chance with my own kid. Adoption is not an option for me.
Because the one thing a vegan community (meant specifically for vegans) needs is carnists coming in to troll everyone into debating them, it's just a little dissent that totally won't turn the community into a hostile environment /s
I've read their stories and have my own, there is no help. Therapy, medication, mental ward visits, physical therapy, etc. don't help. Some issues are definitely caused by society, but it is not realistically possible to change society radically enough and soon enough to help. They feel there is no help because there is indeed no help, I also hold this view for myself.
I am not talking about someone going through a breakup reacting on impulse, I mean people who have been mentally ill for years. People with chronic conditions. People who are in pain.
And what happens when your mental health crisis has lasted for several years, decades even? It is possible to not be terminally ill or old and still rationally decide you want to die due to chronic illness or other issues, even if your issue is purely mental illness. You should be able to die with dignity, peacefully - not after forking over a pretty sum over sketchy websites hoping to get the right peaceful pill that every government has banned or a poison + medication combo so that you'll die puking your guts out but hopefully you won't puke the poison out and successfully die.
There is no help for so many people wanting to die, they've exhausted their options. Some are so desperate they buy what they think is a peaceful pill but is instead rat poison. Mental hospitals do not help these type of people, if these places help at all.
Nah mental hospitals are prisons, it might feel nicer when you have control but on the other side it is a nightmare.
Memento mori = Remember you will die
Learned it while playing persona 3.
I think it is lashing out to ban people for no reason. They were so upset by the trolls that people with legitimate criticisms were banned (which Zoot says they never had an issue with, it was only trolls they did not like) and then people just curious about the mod and asking questions were also banned.
Sorry, I seem to be misunderstanding you because I do not know what you quite mean anymore. You said "that's how they read, especially when you compare their comments to the reddit post i linked. not even the sympathy for a person who leaves explains the difference to me" which I thought meant there was an overwhelming amount of people who were trolls for not having sympathy for the mod author leaving. Now you are saying that people were criticizing too much in the other threads, and I'm not sure what is being shrugged off as sympathy.
I typed a long ass comment on my phone and summit crashed not saving any of it, fucking hell. Anyway I have to refind all the comments again.
Here is where:

People absolutely dragged the mod and the mod author when the update with her boyfriend came out. Normally if people got that mad over something that happens in a mod you'd get pushback from others saying that it's just not for you and it's not your place to judge, but the mod author was also silencing critics and absolutely going off with her army of followers, so yeah no pushback everyone was on the same page. For a couple of weeks she and her mod were the big bads of this subreddit.
u/Live_Hippo_5885
That's a bit wild silencing your critics changing her race and backstory is a bit drastic but it's their mod I suppose, I don't really care that she has a boyfriend I like having a bro to adventure with dude's just kind of a dick imo.
u/WoodenRocketShip
Yeah see if it was just that, then I'd just chalk it up as a mod that I'm uninstalling and never thinking about it again as I barely liked Daegon before. If the mod author didn't go around silencing criticism in the mod's comments, some of which wasn't even criticism and was from genuine fans curious about certain things, then I don't think many people would have said anything.
People on this thread claimed they were banned for not liking the mod, asking questions about the mod, etc. before the comments section was removed altogether.
The context of the discord image joking about doxxing given by the Zoot guy defending the mod author is that it was a random discord user who they did not know who was known for being overdramatic and later on they think someone else told the user to cool it. Doxxing is serious to me so I do not think this context absolves the image, it feels worse since the mod author doesn't even know the person and just gleefully agrees with them to the point another rando has to tell them to stop. I think the mod author is immature and the random user probably a teenager. It's the only thing that makes sense why they would joke like that. I'm not digging for the discord, I've not only already wasted enough time with this comment since summit crashed on me but also find it a waste of time.
The thread talking about the mod author leaving was very sympathetic. My original comment had the top 9 or 10 comments and a few replies from the thread to prove to you that it was not overwhelmed by trolls. But there is no way I'm doing that again. Just read it yourself. If you still think they are not sympathetic enough then something is seriously wrong with your interpretation.
Yes I read this post. They allow screenshots, and one front end that is to be used rarely and sparingly. I said why I originally voted no, if you check the original vote thread it did not mention allowing screenshots, people asked for that in the comments. It was about banning all twitter content. Also the rule says no links in this instance, it does not mention allowed in body of post or in comments, in fact an admin said auto mod will remove links in posts AND comments.

Edit: also must everything be an argument? I thought you were just curious.
