Honestly your sense of humor about this is great, although I suspect you've been telling some of these jokes for years 😅 I know what that can be like, I'm a big person so I got height, shoe, etc jokes for days.

My favorite:

Someone: "how tall are you?"

Me: "tall enough"

Me too!! Not for that long but I was able to make that joke for a year or two.

They could make either one average sized person with average feet or just a fucking monster who is like 7'6" with size 18s

Does anyone know who this person actually is? Shouldn't we try to tell them this is happening?

How about all tech backdoors are bad and we should aim to use and make software and hardware that is ethically produced and usable without selling out your privacy and security?

Some quick points:

• blocked off API access (last I checked you could get around this by paying an exorbitant fee 🙄) meaning 3rd party apps don't work and you absolutely must use the official app which is garbage and collects all kinds of data from what I've heard (never used it) as well as disabling services that do stuff with reddit data from the API such as mass delete scripts users would use to get their content off reddit
• fertile ground for bots and bad actors to manipulate, misinform and recruit users into alt-right and other spaces that perpetuate harm
• moderation policies and practices that allow and in some cases encourage Nazi shit while blocking or restricting harm reduction, LGBTQIA+, anti-fascist, etc topics
• massive astroturfing and dis/misinfo campaigns
• flagging the word "Luigi" for violent content with automod and giving people warnings for upvoting content that goes against preferred narratives

And certainly more that I'm forgetting

Does anyone know how to reliably delete an entire reddit account, ideally editing over each comment as well? I did this before they closed off access to the API but upon checking months later, they had reverted all the changes so my account looks like it did before with everything visible.

I have heard of and witnessed an incredible amount of cognitive dissonance, horizontal and other ableism, anti-science, anti-masking, anti-vaccine and anti-health behavior and misinformation in my "thank god we live here" blue state, most often by folks who are less marginalized and otherwise less effected by the problems I listed above (but not always) and I don't necessarily blame these people for being overwhelmed and confused because they've been intentionally captured in a disinfo bubble that is the result of being the target of concerted efforts by multiple actors at up to and including the state level to keep them that way for their own purposes, although I do hold them individually responsible for harm they are directly causing as a result, or partially responsible for harm they help to perpetuate that is done by systems or groups which can be massive. The work to undo the programming/socializing needs to start asap on an individual level or if we ever have the chance to make something new it will end up having the same problems. Deconstruction of harmful behaviors and thoughts is necessary, with professionals or loved ones or on ones own, whatever the case, the point is to stop doing the dirty work for corporations and billionaires and anyone else who benefits from these hierarchies by reinforcing the values they want us to have such as obedience to authority and individualism.

I always think it's so weird when someone uses the aryan nazi blonde hair blue eye chad guy or whatever it's called to show the "good old days" or whatever. Additionally in this case I find it curious that the images used for the folks who seem to represent the regressive anti-science crowd are a group of characters with more diverse looks. How exactly am I doing that by pointing out that you're not actually arguing in good faith?

You are projecting in your accusation that I am attempting to change the topic, as you are the one who initially posted a top level comment attempting to shift the blame to politicians for convincing people to buy a car from a known Nazi's company, which by the way is a bullshit premise in the first place for many reasons including that there are plenty of other EV manufacturers and no one forced anyone to buy a Nazi car.
