  • I appreciate what you're saying but with all due respect, you don't know me and/or my relationship with my dad. The time for even tone and "mutual respect" was before we were faced with this existential threat and before he decided he was okay with things heading this way and making excuses for Nazi saluting oligarchs at inaugurations on live TV. I have a complicated relationship with my father like many people do. He has influence over my family, and in certain ways, me. I feel very strongly that its important (ethically necessary even) to call out apologism like this in spaces where my voice may be heard. That and I'm extra emotional dealing with the new reality of things. And for what it's worth that basically is mutual respect, you can't get an accurate approximation of how he communicates from just a handful of texts.
