  • Sync for Reddit used to be a very popular Android app for Reddit. It has a great design, and many awesome features. However, when reddit made their API have extremely high prices, sync stopped working along with many other popular apps.

The dev is now working on a client that will look similar and have many features, but for Lemmy.

  • Flathub apps will likely be removed quickly if they're found to be malicious. They're slightly more unsafe than official repos, but you should be fine. Make sure to carefully check apps with like 4 downloads though.

  • Sync for Reddit let you hide read posts, so it's likely Sync for Lemmy will too.

  • Comes from sync so it's likely it'll support that

  • What android device are you using?

    Pixel 6

What do you love the most?

The software is great, with all of the little quality of life features. Great camera and decent battery, inexpensive compared to other phones.

    What do you dislike?

Video kinda sucks, however the Pixel 7 series fixed that. I also dislike how material you is biased: greens are extremely bright while blues are quite dull. The bezels are also insanely chonky.

  • You can also join the Discord, the dev is quite active in there.

  • Sync for Reddit was a very popular 3rd party client for Reddit, as it had a lot of great features and an amazing design.

Now that 3rd party apps are gone, the dev is making a Lemmy version, and everybody is hyped up for when it comes out.

  • I dunno, LJ just said "soon"

  • It won't be on iOS for the same reason Apollo wasn't on Android. They are focusing on their own platform and optimizing for that. Apollo and sync focus on having a great native looking UI.

  • I don't believe spoilers are part of the official markdown specification. Even if markdown parsers supported it, I'd assume it would be ||this is a message||

  • as an American, bless the EU, they're carrying America with stuff like GDPR

  • This is mostly for cheap phones. People don't accept it on Android.

Pixels are essentially the default android phone, and they're mostly a great software experience, little bloat ware and no strange ads like this.

It's likely this is the carrier anyway.

  • nevermind: it turns out they won't fulfill it if you're a US citizen because GDPR only applies to EU citizens. welp
