  • What are all these IA-generated images about Trump? I guess they are bot accounts but what the hell has to do with shitpost?

  • I use Sidebery and being honest, since I get used to Sidebery I never used the horizontal tabs again.

  • yes he is!

  • IMO this is the best option.

  • Drama aside, Skidrow really does "cracks"? I thought they were only repackers.

Voksi, you fokkin prick, DRM exists for a reason in this world, it protects legitimate interests of actual hard working people, that are entitled to get a decent income from their hard effort!!!!

I'm not on any "side" but wut? We are talking about a repacker to a cracker, I think they can be considered equally "guilty" in the sense of "making hard-working people lose money" by distributing the games themselves. And what the hell, I'm pretty sure that's not the reason DRM exists, and if it is, it's to secure the income of companies, not their workers.

  • It may sound obvious, but doesn't OBS have an option to disable mouse recording?

And I didn't know that OBS could record DRM content, I had read that disabling hardware acceleration could do it but I never tried it.

  • What is Jackett's manual search? Never heard of it.

  • I have been using Linguist, which is an open source extension that works very well, you can translate a specific text selection or the whole text, and it even has an offline translator (using the Bergamot project).

  • Unfortunately I can't donate but it looks like a very noble act on your part, I hope you make it happen and do well.

  • I'll be honest, the only way to listen to music privately is to download it. (And using an opensource music player)

There are Github repositories with CLI programs to download complete Spotify playlists with Youtube and also download their metadata.

  • Personally I consider the best alternative is Spotify, and I know, it's a telemetry and tracker nightmare but you don't necessarily need to create an account using your main email, you can use a temporary email exclusively for your spotify account.

Personally, I used ViMusic and Moosync for a long time but then I really considered that at the end of the day I'm depending on Google and I'm giving my information to Google even though I'm using a front-end, which is not even a proxy, it's Google.

In this case I consider that fragmentation is better, Spotify can't recognize me from other services and I give less information to Google.

  • In case anyone is interested in an alternative, I personally use LanguageTool because it is open source and works very well.

  • Fedora seems to me a wonderful distribution and what I like the most is that it is like the "Vanilla" flavor of each DE and that it is really innovative. I've tried their Gnome and Plasma flavors and it's been pretty good, except for a few things:

    1. Inability to install Nvidia drivers: In the past, maybe a year or year and a half ago I tried Fedora but when I installed Nvidia drivers and rebooted the system I had the problem that I always had a black screen, I reinstalled several times and I exhausted myself Now that I think about it, it is very possible that this is a problem of some Wayland dependency in Plasma, because that has happened to me in other distros and I simply changed to X11 and installed said package, or I could do it from TTY, but I never thought about that .
    2. I have nothing against snaps or flatpaks and it seems ridiculous to argue about that, everyone uses what works for them and likes it and in my case I use all the available package formats, but there are some Firefox extensions that I don't they work because of the sandbox environment that flatpak provides, and some other programs that have a similar problem.

I guess all that will be fixed, one day I'll give it a try again.

  • Thank you very much for providing a link, it was really super simple.

  • Does kget work well? I tried it in the past, but it never really captured any link I gave it.

  • A good read no doubt, it really makes it clear why piracy is and was often a necessity, not only for those who can't afford to pay for something, but also those who live in an authoritarian regime. I wonder how Lin and Yu would have fared after the ban was lifted.

  • Interesting, thanks for the information.

It reminds me that I had read that Russia doesn't care about foreign copyright either, and it makes sense.
