  • Probably depends on what you're familiar with. I used Sync for Reddit for years, so I'm right at home with the Sync for Lemmy app now.

  • I believe Mozilla actually hired the dev not that long ago.

  • Ahh, makes more sense.

Are there any other domains that could be in a similar situation now?

  • So interestingly enough I've seen all your other replies to my Firefish account except for this one. When I look at your profile within Firefish, I don't see this reply but do see the rest of them. Guessing it might be because of the embedded image?

Had to reply to this one with my Lemmy account 🙂

  • So no real info realesed yet on how he died other than due to an "accident"

  • Are there any downsides to doing this?

  • LMFAO

  • I assume people who are looking to try to use all FOSS for social media/chat platforms

  • This was in Texas. I'm sure the Judge doesn't even think of that as a problem there.

  • Well that's... that's something, alright

  • Hey, I'm not using Linux... on my desktop

  • It's definitely forced me to learn a lot within the past few days. I guess I should thank reddit, because if they hadn't forced the 3rd party apps out of business I wouldn't have ever heard of Lemmy or kbin.

  • To be honest, I found it annoying at first. But I didn't really "get it" either. Now that I've seen a few more posts it doesn't seem vastly different than a lot of the subreddit cultures that were out there and commonplace.

I do appreciate the content 🙂

  • Part of the problem will be how to make new users understand this, though. Lots of people will be coming from something like reddit where they'll just want to sign up through a popular instance and likely won't fully understand what that means.

More advanced users will understand this, but it's not then I would be worried about.
