Amazon pricing seems heavily weighted on whether you shopped around online or not. I think they have tracking cookies that check whether or not your comparing prices. If you do, they keep their prices reasonable, if not, they slowly jack them up until you start, then they back off a bit.

I think they raise a perfectly reasonable point, despite your feelings.

While it may not seem likely to occurr, I would also not allow an 80 year old doctor to care for me for very similar reasons.

Sure, but in order to change the narrative, you need to move forward, saying the same thing over and over will result in the same responses, and get you where you are. I personally disagree with your points, but if you raise them in good faith, then you deserve to be heard. The key is "in good faith", if you're unwilling to accept you may be wrong, how can you expect others to?

Discussion is difficult on lemmy, but the only way to make it better is to keep trying.

Continuing to post the exact same article, and parrot the same talking point, isn't exactly painting you in a good light. If you want discussion, try moving forward with it.

Good job cdpr, I was planning on finally actually buying this game. Now you've told me it's still the same mess it's always been, and to continue holding off. Maybe in a few more years, when I can get the full game with dlcs for less than $30.

It was similar, but on reddit there was enough people to occasionally get someone interested in genuine discussion. This comment chain is the most productive conversation I've had on Lemmy. In fact it's the only one.

This comment chain has given me multiple bouts if anxiety for the exact same reason. Thankfully everyone is being nice so far.

At this point, I don't even care if they're kind, I just want discussion.

I often delete comments before I even post them, knowing that it just isn't worth it most of the time.

Discussion is difficult. This place feels like a club sometimes, and if you don't subscribe to the exact same ideals, you just get shouted down. I'm here for discussion, and dissenting opinions, but it just isn't allowed to exist here.

I was going to say nothing, but based on other answers here, it seems Christmas is being held as religious. I personally feel all religious connotations have been thoroughly washed away from xmas over the years, and it's simply a holiday like any other now. I still love the lights and decorations it brings out, the whole family coming together, and the food.

I think I'd rather be allowed to die than have all 4 limbs removed. That sounds like an awful existence.

Canadian too, I wear my shoes inside. I don't have kids, and I don't roll around on the floor, so why would I care?
