To clarify, not an official Valve version, just in case somebody is wondering.

I mean where I am from the private cable tv wasn't as common so it was easier for people to see most of the stuff as all was free over the air tv, as long as you had a tv and antenna that's it.

On America it seems like it would be easier I guess for people not see certain things if they didn't have cable or their didn't have certain channel or similar.

If I have to listen close-ish then they don't stick out or they do very little so sounds good enough to me. Let again we don't need exact replicas for gaming.

Plus probably lot of usage would be to pregenerate stuff not realtime so they can fix specific cases where it sounds weird by editing or similar.

But forgetting you have something on you on general pretty easy. I mean it doesn't necessarily be on you I am gonna expect the truly forget ones probably was on a bag or similar that they didn't remember they put something there the other day.
