  • Now, I am not the biggest fan of those kinds of actions, because they are indeed exploited heavily by the burgeois press, but let's talk about attention. I remember there being at least two paint defacings and damaging of private jets here in Germany in 2023 by similar groups. There was next to no press about it - and if you search for it today, it is genuinely hard to find the articles that even mention them, one I found even focusing on the legal questions of insurance, instead of writing about the broader issues at all:

    https://www.t-online.de/region/hamburg/id_100188204/letzte-generation-farbattacke-auf-sylter-privatjet-so-hoch-ist-der-schaden.html https://www.aerotelegraph.com/wer-zahlt-bei-einem-farbanschlag-auf-ein-privatflugzeug

So, you would be surprised - actions that target more "deserving" targets often just.... aren't talked about at all, or very little, small footnotes. This at least starts debates, which cannot be denied.

  • It's my favourite German insult: "Wixer" has such a nice sound to it, too

  • Just remember to pirate them, and all's well

  • Life itself, the propagation and continuation of it, the creation of conscious structures capable of experience, reflection and influence over their nature - and ultimately defiance against a cold and dead, seemingly endless universe.

Or, for people that like the cold universe, there's a quote I forgot who it came from: "The purpose of life is to waste the energy of the sun"

  • I protest, I have a small dick, but only have some residual unconscious racism that I am actively working against!

  • Fun fact: The designer almost went with "Cool Centrist Clicker", they have a devlog about it.

  • Fun fact: The designer almost chose "Cool Centrist Clicker" as a name, they have a devlog about it.

  • Yeah, I interpreted it as such, which made me even more confused there's only milk and no other dairy products. Here in Germany at least, if protein for cheap is what you want, you go with Quark or Harzer.

EDIT: Huh, I just did some very rough math in my head, going with 1,35€ for a 500g pack of Quark from Lidl, and interestingly, that seems to put it roughly at the same place as actual milk, with it having 60g of protein, that is fascinating.

  • I am a little thrown off by there being no cheeses and other dairy products at all. How does stuff like Skyr, Yoghurt, Quark, etc. compare?

  • Oooh, wait, that isn't how it works in other programs? I really like that behaviour in GIMP to be perfectly honest, have used it in editing stuff deliberately.

  • I lost my original one, because I didn't know shit about secure passwords, and never bothered to try to have it recovered.

  • Spring. Not too hot, sun is out, things are green, lovely time of the year. Autumn is also nice, similar stuff to like, but overall, I don't like the muddy ground and weather as much. Winter is nice temperature-wise, but the lack of sun messes with me. Summer is... unavoidable, unfortunately :/

  • Denmark as well, I guess I know which direction I am fleeing towards, when fascism resurges here in Germany.

  • Oh, true, I did not realise "Best Before" exists in that way, due to English not being my first language. But yes, that makes a lot of sense.

  • The expiration date - unless it's a different legal definition where you are from - is not really about being edible, but just signifies the guarantee the producer gives, basically "up until this date we will guarantee this product will maintain the expected quality". In this case, I think it will be them not guaranteeing that the salt won't have drawn water from the air and clumped up or something like that.

  • For its time, it was a real classic, and it still has a lot of good elements (English localization is lackluster though, from what I heard.) Back when it was new, I remember all my friends playing it here in Germany.

If you enjoy an open world RPG with a very immersive, believable world, that has basically every character with schedules, motivations and personality, this still delivers more than even most modern games. Controls are... from a time when control schemes weren't yet standardized and fully figured out. And combat, while appearing like an action-RPG, is actually above all stats-based, armor and weapons being the most important things to unlock content.

But overall, I'd recommend Gothic 2 more, it's basically "the same but better and more". It's definitely worth a look to anyone interested in retro RPGs .

  • By now, Lemmy, hands down. I do sometimes end up on reddit from searching for stuff, and I check every now and then if I got any messages on my old accounts just in case someone wants to reach out, but overall - even without niche communities, Lemmy is just the better experience for me, personally.

  • I actually smiled and laughed when I first saw that it was a huge trend, considering all the gary's mod and SFM stuff, especially TF2 videos, I adored myself as a teen/young adult. Made me feel less old seeing that there's still life in the meme format.
