She's definitely not Obama. Her weakness is policy. She has intentionally avoided the topic because she would undoubtedly alienate some of that "joy" that they're doing so well courting.
Thing is, the GOP in general is extremely weak on policy. And Trump is the worst of the bunch.
So she's probably good, unless the GOP can somehow make her define her stance in certain terms. Which she has always avoided like the plague in the past.
The carpool lanes were very under utilized. Hybrids and later EVs were also slow to be adopted, and the state wanted this adoption accelerated due to air quality and just general environmental consciousness.
So the state decided to add the carpool benefit, which solved two problems.
Now that EVs are far more abundant, that policy is getting revisited. Which is fair, because the carpool lane can only support so many before it just gets clogged like the main road. And people don't necessarily need the encouragement to get EVs anymore.
When carplay works, it's great. But mine constantly has issues connecting to phones. Both my wife's iPhone, and my Android. Both are flagships that are a couple years old, so still very current and sufficient specs.
Meanwhile, my old aftermarket Bluetooth radio connects every time with no issue.
I do like the convenience of GPS and audio on the car tablet when it works. But honestly, it's a distraction when it's being fussy.
The credit card fee is the only one I don't mind. CC fees siphon a lot more money out of what we pay than people think. It's unfair that restaurants/stores have to take that hit because the CC industry has been successful in making credit cards ubiquitous.
All those rewards we get as consumers for using CCs come straight from the vendors pockets, and the banks get a much larger cut of the fees than they "give" back via rewards.
There is no reason why credit card fees need to be so steep in the digital age. And most vendor agreements require that vendors aren't allowed to charge a separate CC fee to cover the cost to them, so they instead have to raise prices on all (cash) customers through a menu price hike.
It's the same kind of bullshit as Apple requiring that app owners are not allowed to sell their app on other platforms for less than their Apple Store price.
I agree for the most part. But he has, in the past, been very good at press.
You know the double landing of the rockets was an insane requirement had to come straight from him. There was no need to land both simultaneously, and just made everything a lot riskier and more stressful to coordinate. But the good press they got from it let them ride a tidal wave of good will for years.
Of course, he has ruined all that good will and then some. It's obviously time to cut him out. The one thing he was good at is not the his worst quality.
But yes, to your point, he never had anything to do with engineering in any capacity for any of his companies. He was a PR machine, and a slave driver to get his superficial vanity projects to completion. But that has all caught up to him.
That would only work if she actually answers the questions she's asked, too. My big gripe with Harris in her VP debates and interviews was that she dodged every question that wasn't in her talking points.
Maybe she can answer directly now that she's not deferring to the president. Maybe not.
However, she can still do the "disappointed mom if a petulant child" shtick without calling or for question evasion anyway. They are not linked.
She died 2 years later. Assuming she was old and/or in poor health, I can absolutely understand not wanting to move. It's especially stressful for the elderly who may have lived there for decades. And it's not like she could take the money into the afterlife anyway.
I have 3.5 cats on the same medication (0.5 cat is shared custody we watch sometimes). Juggling 4 prescriptions is a pain in the ass. Life would be much simpler if we could just get a Costco sized bottle of it and be good for half a year or more. For a medication that is very commonly prescribed for elderly cats.
And I doubt many of those who left are reevaluating the ethos imparted by the leaders they now are distancing themselves from.
