  • True but irrelevant.

  • You are needlessly combative.

if i have reason to doubt it, and that depends on how i feel the importance on the data i am working with, it gives me the source of its information. So i can verify it. Google is even worse at providing misinformation because it’s just a hose of information with a bunch of ads hidden amongst it, and people bidding for elevated results, and spam.

No matter what tool you use to harness the internet, it’s up to the user to parse that info.

  • I mean, if domestic pharmaceuticals raise their prices to match the foreign ones to pocket the profit… does it matter?

  • I mean, its great finding me sources of information.

Could google do it? Not as good as it used too or as good as ai, but yes.

I also use it to format my brain storms.

Or where it’s located or what the name of the function i need.

Or if i want info on items i am looking to buy, like what the benefit of waxing my bike chain is over oils. That sort of thing

  • I voted Harris. But at this point, i am thinking that the Democratic Party must be corralled first before trying to take on the republicans. So now i am looking for third party or independent in the future.

  • I feel off about this. Permits. Like ok, you are given permission by the powers that be that as long as it’s in a specific area and don’t cause a disturbance… why would a protest want to play by these rules? Isn’t the point to cause a disturbance? Wouldn’t getting a permit be a direct message that the protest has no chance at obtaining actual change?

  • People downvote, but i am not very convinced that the protest will do anything. I also wonder why we protest where we do and when we do. I suppose the intention is that we are still in the politicians fuck around part, but not quite up to politicians find out part.

Hopefully i am proven wrong and something will happen, but even then i fear that people will settle for things being only nominally worse then normal after the scalding.

  • My comment is germane to the post comparing the two devices in an aspect that exemplifies how they can’t be compared, and tries to spin it as a negative, while attempting to bury its positive.

The fact you say that the switch is not like any other computer is both true in the sense that i already argued, and false in that it IS yet just another computer, but with a walled garden.

If there was any a comment that was irrelevant, it would be yours.

  • How is that different from any other computer buying from steam, ever? In the history of all computer games? A steam deck is a hand held computer with a community large enough, and system specs stable enough to have a rating on potentially any PC, and most Nintendo games in existence. Compared to nintendo’s walled garden. Your comparing apples to oranges.

  • Yea no matter how you slice it, there are no good use of tariffs, and if one were to insist, then it would only be like just barley enough to push up the price above parity, and only on very select items. But then if the other country does it back it goes in favor to the nation that is more industrial.

  • But these local companies just jack up their price to be competitive to the new tariffed foreign price and pocket the money.

  • I was thinking about the protectionism though… like in order for the tariff to work, the us would have to also manufacture the good that is being tariffed. But we don’t produce a lot here…and also even if we did… i guarantee the us business would jack up the prices to be competitive with the foreign price After tariffs and pocket the money. Making the whole thing moot.

  • I don’t see how that is relevant to the question of, ‘if other sanctioned countries are being tariffed why is Russia not tariffed’ and ‘we still traded with tariffed countries including Russia so why is Russia treated different’.

I mean these questions are largely rhetorical, we know why. The fact that we buy less from Russia is first of all you moving the goal posts from assuming we didn’t trade with them, and second not related to why countries are tarrifed.

  • I got an $80 one from Home Depot. And it was the second best purchase i have made. It really didn’t have to be expensive… but i did try to buy one on Amazon… and it was designed to fail, so i recommend just going to get one at a store

  • Remember, sharpening the Guillotine is for the benefit of the guillotinee, not the user.

  • This is like the opposite of when people complain that when ever anyone tries to talk about women issues, men have to suddenly make it about them. I don’t know why this has to be a zero sum event here.

  • I do try to make some sort of noise, or i will shift what i am holding to what ever side i am passing a woman, or will cross the street to avoid having to cross paths… mainly because accusatory stares, or women clutching their children as i pass is too hard to bear

  • He’s badly arguing that since the artist saw, has knowledge of, and has recreated the art style using his brain, he’s no better then someone who uses AI to do the ‘same thing’

He can’t tell why it’s different and that’s to be expected of an ai prompter. It would take effort.

  • Whats the issue? The president already said that there was no classified info on the chat. So go for it.
