  • Bernie Sanders’s platform, he is the poster child of the progressive vote. There and done

  • Progressive policy is already known. As a matter of fact the Democratic Party publicly lambasted specific progressive policy after the election. It was one of the things that alienated me AFTER the election. If they blame progressives for costing them the election, then proclaim they will no longer fight for progressive policy, i don’t know what to tell you, but i ain’t interested.

  • That’s a category error. The democrats are not owed anyone’s votes. The terms are set. It is the reality of things. Not sure how blaming progressives is going to get us to change our minds.

  • If that’s the case then you should be on-bord with the democrats parleying with the progressives to secure the win. You must have SOME progressive policy you can at least stomach that you would demand the Democratic Party fork over. But after what the democrats did after the election, it better very very tempting.

  • Eh~ some votes are more equal than others. It’s a progressive want to rectify that, with a change to the voting system.

But also, yes, and if democrats want some of these votes, they are going to have to come to the table with something palatable, and it turns out that lies, and threats were not good enough. And you can hang the blame of the loss of the election squarely on the agent responsible, the Democratic Party.

  • And there we have it, the smoking gun. That’s the argument you should have started with, its the much more defensible position. But again it doesn’t mean that Biden had a snowballs chance in hell. Nor does this justify blaming disenfranchised voters for losing. Because however large the liberal block is, its obviously much much smaller then the republicans voter base. And it frames your blaming the progressives as a shaming tactic or a scare tactic depending on how close the next election is. And it also vindicated my position for getting progressive policy, seeing as that is now your stated goal to defeat.

  • Apparently the apathetic vote is large enough to prevent a democratic victory.

You can’t have it both ways either the progressive vote is too small to matter and they didn’t have an influence of Harris losing the election, or they are too massive to ignore and they must be pushed into voting against their interests or else its their fault the dems lost.

    Pick a lane.

  • We are not talking about the center or the republicans rightward drift. These are enabled by the democratic parties rightward drift

Your argument is to arrest the right ward drift by voting in centrist democrats… and they would push progressive policy against their own goals because why again?

  • You are allowed to feel any which way you like about that or unicorns, but reality has a way of pushing back. If you don’t have any means of backing up your assertion, then none else should take your arguments or your condemnation of progressive voters seriously

  • I mean, you can admit that you don’t align with progressive policy and are a ‘the market will provide’ liberal. And i would just have to accept that.

But for some bizarre reason you just outright deny the rightward drift is even happening. Which was the incorrect play here. You can argue policy, you can’t argue facts.

  • Man if only we had a way to read the temperature of the voting base to see if everyone who voted for Joe Biden still intended to do so. Some way to compare it to the temperature of the room back when he won to help make strategic decisions.

Oh wait! We do! And it’s a poll

You see the error in your thinking is that your opinion holds more weight than mine, based off what i can only assume is copeium. I based mine off his performance and polling data, our opinions do not carry the same weight.

  • I mean. I see You as part of the problem. You have no answer to the rightward ratchet. And so i can only conclude that democrats rightward drift is not a bug to you it’s a feature and if that’s the case, i don’t rate your opinion very highly

  • I mean we have talked about this before. But for everyone else in the class i am talking about everything. Remember i was the guy you argued with about forcing progressive policy with conditional voting. You don’t get that by voting blue no matter who.

  • Incorrect, you assume he would have the same votes as Harris AND the misogynist and racist democrats, i doubt you could count on that even if it were true. But we don’t have to wonder because it was far far worse off for him, besides you are forgetting the ageist democrats too!

  • Well i am not voting for democratic nominees unless they had prioritized progressive policies in the past, so she will be in good company.

  • Did, did you follow me here from an argument you lost, call me pretentious, on a time travel joke, and attempt to correct my measurements on the speed of light with which can only be a grossly over simplified and wrong result for the speed of light?

Oh my god, that is precious! I’m saving this one. So did you want to ruin everyone else’s vibe here and get to answering for your self from that other thread? Or like take the L and move on?

  • Yep, it was the 10th time i was attempting to burn a clients files to DVD’s. I swore i was never going through that again. Then after i got a successful burn prompt, i went to hit ok and a fatal error had occured, and lo and behold the burn failed after verification. Joined the Navy within the week.

  • I do, cuz i got a quadlock mount for it on my bike
