  • I must admit that I cannot get used to blender.

Might be that I'm an old fart who started on 3ds max back in the 00s, but I cannot get used to how different blender is from the normal modeling software paradigm.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely applaud and appreciate all that the Blender Foundation has done for 3d modelling and all the industries it touches, but it's just not for me.

I'm lucky enough to be in a position where the cost of my software of choice (Modo) isn't a problem, but I get kind of anxious as the idea of being forced to really use blender to do actual work.

  • There is a single one-off store in my city (Copenhagen, Denmark) that is almost exactly like a mid 90s radioshack. Cheap cables, electronics projects, bargain bin full of random components, shoddy soldering irons, etc.

Somehow it's still around. I'm deathly afraid that it'll close some day, so I try to shop there whenever possible.

  • Oh.

    oh

I'm from one of those countries (Denmark) where å is a regularly used letter. I completely missed that Blahaj is the same as Blåhaj. Very sorry!

I kept seeing "Blahaj" and read it as some kind of Arabic word and wondered what the hell that instance was about.

    I feel pretty stupid now.

  • That's a fair enough point to highlight, I think.

You're making an open world game in space, launching around the same time as an open world game in space from a developer thats famous for "quantity over quality" worlds. Unless starfield totally flops, then odds are everything similar will be compared to it for years to come, the same way open world fantasy games were compared to Skyrim and Oblivion before it.

Making a point of highlighting how your game is different from starfield is not bad move, especially in a time where people are becoming more and more jaded with big open world games.

  • The only spaces I’d say Apple is truly dominant is smart watches and tablets. But even then Garmin makes a better sports watch and 2 in 1 laptops eat into the tablet market.

Even that might be an overstatement. I'm in Europe, and while smart watches are becoming more and more ubiqutous, the thin models like sports watches and round android watches are far, far more popular than Apple's models.

  • Wait, did they fire Chris Roberts before finishing Freelancer? I never knew.

Freelancer was the first game I clocked over 500 hours on in online play. So many fond memories.

Edit: OK, read up on it. They absolutely did. I never new Chris Roberts was such a Chris Roberts all the way back in 1999.
