Did the end of S1 really leave anything open for a S2? These TV shows were the worst thing to happen to the MCU, it all feels like filler content for their streaming service (which it is). I've liked 2 of them, Loki and Wandavision.
They really need to ditch the multiverse too, or at least narrow it down. Have a good universe, and a bad universe. Then have the two universes fight. No rules means no consequences.
Suzuki and his colleagues found that whale songs convey less than one bit of information per second. By comparison, humans speaking English generate 10 bits of information for each word spoken
I understand some animals, especially mammals like whales, dolphins, and primates have complex languages. But ours is still more advanced. They just have no reason for their language to become more complex when all they need to do is eat and mate.
Animal communication is very basic compared to ours' is just a blatantly false statement.
It's not, it's proven in the study you linked.
And as for smell, I would consider that an ability/skill, not intelligence. Monkeys aren't smarter than us because they can climb trees faster than us, dolphins aren't smarter than us because they're more adapted to swimming. Even cats aren't smarter than us based on their faster reaction speeds. Intelligence relies on brain power.
And it's not like dolphins could learn whale language. Animal communication is very basic compared to ours.
I think it's undeniable that we're the most intelligent and capable species on the planet and not just because of apposable thumbs. Maybe some of the smartest animals are smarter than the dumbest humans, but we have a huge range.
No other brain works the way ours does, other primates and some dolphins/whales come close with their ingenuity and stuff but obviously millions of years behind us.
I just check 1337x's trending torrents for movies and TV most days when I turn my computer on. Works well enough for me unless it's a much smaller show. I didn't notice What We do in the Shadows was back for 3 weeks because not enough people DL it for it to be in the top 100.
Unfortunately, that's really not how it works. The masses don't care. Just like Netflix profits increased after the crackdown, most people just use the Reddit app and don't give a fuck.
Tbh, with how small lemmy is, it's really not got much draw for most people. I still miss the long conversations and multiple comments. I've only seen like 50 comments on here at best.
No, it's not bland. But it falls into the awful category for me at least. That's two appealing movies out of how many? A lot of these new movies have amazing detail but no soul. Pixar has had no joy for years.
I do really hope PiB and Spiderman inspire more studios to put effort into their kids movies.
I've only got a out 1.5tb but if I ditched Netflix I'd need to download 10+ shows with hundreds of episodes. I've already got a few 6+ season shows on my Plex but it's mostly 1-2 season newer shows because everything has segregated so much in the past few years. If you don't have Disney+ and want to see all the marvel shit, it's adding up quick. It's not like I'm rewatching all this stuff, I have 300 movies and rewatch one or two maybe once a year. I just keep everything because it's not very expensive to me. If I need more space I'll drop £100 and have storage for the next 5+ years.
Then there's the people who download 25gb 4k movies and shit, I will occasionally but I don't like to do it.
Celebrities with obscene amounts of money is like 1% of actors. Most of them are just Joe shmoes in the background. Actors should get their fair share, I think it's pretty simple, even famous people have been sharing the low amounts they make from streaming.
At least celebrities really only get paid what the market dictates and actually provide joy/entertainment to the people that willingly give them money. 100% of CEO's exploit to make their billions - and they'll never get replaced, they "need" to be in charge, replace everyone else though, they like how cheap it is.
I never got passed ep 2 but this doesn't fill me with confidence in watching the rest. Why does everything marvel make now have to be a big nothing burger?
Anyone who would've left Reddit has already done so, they may be a small increase when Boost/sync becomes available but I doubt we'll see much growth. No one has ever heard of Lemmy.
