  • Make your own rose water from locally obtained rose petals. All rose petals are eventually going to fall on the ground and decay. Any toxic compounds in the rose petals are going to end up released into the environment and washed into the watershed eventually. If you use them for bath soap, you're just temporarily using them in the path they would already take if left to their own devices. If anything, you're decreasing the contamination to the environment, as anything that goes down your shower drain will be filtered by the municipal water treatment plant before being released into the watershed.

  • Yup. One of the main reasons people oppose the death penalty is because of the proven record of innocent people receiving death sentences. Approximately 4% of people who receive death sentences are actually innocent. We execute many innocent people in this country. The system absolutely does not operate on the principle of "it is better for 1000 guilty to go free than for one innocent to be unjustly punished."

Many oppose the death penalty because they realize just how poor our justice system is at actually determining guilt and innocence. Those who assume it is near-infallible will be much more likely to support the death penalty. So if you screen out those opposed to death sentences, you also screen out people who are more skeptical of the criminal justice system overall.

  • Well, don't be surprised when people start normalizing using ethnic slurs against Hispanic people. If you don't have the common decency to refer to people respectfully, why would you expect others to protect you from the same treatment?

  • Democrats DID retreat from numerous issues. They retreated from immigration. They retreated from Palestine. They retreated from taxing the wealthy. They retreated from healthcare. They retreated from trans people. They retreated from the minimum wage. They retreated from shunning Bush-era war criminals.

Democrats work so hard to "keep their powder dry" that they never end up firing a single fucking shot. They're not strategic geniuses; they're just cowards.

  • People's passports are being revoked, the healthcare people need to keep breathing is being targeted for elimination, and it is the official policy of the sitting US president that being trans is by nature pedophilic, and that pedophiles deserve the death penalty.

Spare me your dismissive bullshit. If you think this is actually about sports, you are the dumbest motherfucker on the planet.

  • The truth is that outright stealing elections via vote rigging is an incredibly risky strategy. If you do that, and you get caught? That's the kind of thing that can legitimately trigger an actual civil war. Rationally, it's just not worth the risk. It's especially not worth the risk when there are plenty of other shady but legal options available like gerrymandering, voter roll purges, corrupt judicial rulings, etc.

This dynamic is also why you rarely see companies bribing politicians with giant bags of cash delivered in the night. There's no need to engage in such overt bribery, as they've already constructed a system where legal forms of bribery (campaign contributions) exist.
