These aren’t rare in the sense that everybody has one they keep as a collectible. If I went down to 7/11 and tried to buy something with it they’d give me a funny look.

Save the missiles for the bigger targets but do hold the machine gun trigger down. I don’t think there’s a way to get more ammo. It’s just a temporary thing but it’s really nice when you have to hold an area for a while.

The meteors are funny IMO. But it definitely isn’t good game design to have a mechanic where you just randomly die with no way to defend yourself.

Also people need to chill out. Things get buffed and nerfed. The meta changes. We are already getting our first taste of power creep with the mech suits.

Connect the iPad to the computer. In Finder select the iPad under “locations”. Select “Music”. Configure what to Sync, and then click “Sync”.

Alternatively, depending on your use case, it might be easier to simply use VLC and the Files app on the iPad.

They don't do that to allow consumers or hobbyists tweak the device in ways they want. They want to establish a functional ecosystem, so they need apps.

Those two statements, allowing consumers and hobbyists to tweak the device in the ways they want, and having a functional ecosystem of apps, are loosely equivalent.

I know the difference is you want hobbyists to be able to change more than Apple allows. But it isn’t a binary hobbyists or not.

There are open source apps for all of Apple’s Products. I’m using one to type this comment.

They do put restrictions on what you can make, but they absolutely want the open source and hobbyist devs.

That’s Apple’s hope as well. They started allowing even hobbyist devs to test on the device almost a year before the public release.

I would buy an Apple Vision Pro if it were in the Google Glass form factor.

I want things like walking directions virtually overlayed on the street, or reminders to visibly pop up when relevant, or just a neater interface than my phone for things like checking my calendar or recent messages.

I think part of the issue is the Google Glass form factor came with some unfortunate limitations. The full VR headset approach allows the image to look however Apple wants. With the Google Glass things can only be lightly overlayed on a small portion of the visual field.

Even if HDMI manages the same framerate it will still have a higher latency.

DisplayPort is designed to give your GPU a fast connection to your display. HDMI is designed to give the copyright holder of the video you are watching a DRM protected connection to your display to make piracy harder.

This is why DisplayPort is better for the consumer but HDMI is more popular because the device manufacturers are really in charge of what you get.

Whichever order you install the OSes in, they will all fight over who gets to boot first. Multiple installs of Ubuntu will even fight with each other. It’s manageable, but annoying.

Steam didn’t want to get involved so they decided to remove Dolphin until Dolphin and Nintendo come to an agreement, which will never happen.

If you can’t run the game you want to play locally, you might be able to run it on GFN and stream it instead.

If you have a reasonably powerful computer and the games you play work on Linux, you are much better off just running the games locally.

It used to be good enough that I would rely on it over dual-booting my laptop. But at least to me it’s only a last resort now.

The AI can have access to a terminal in a docker container on my raspberry pi. If I’m convinced it’s trustworthy it might move up to a docker container on my desktop.
