Can you elaborate? Because the tax also applies on spare parts, do the car will cost 40% more to purchase (25% is the tax that the manufacturer has to pay, so in order to keep the same net profit margin they had to increase much more the MSRP) AND will cost 40% more to repair

In their case they're using a variant of Google for automotive, so enabling apple carplay and android auto is literally a checkbox on GM side

They're doing extra work to disable it because they want to render the car worthless when after a few years when the os is outdated and the user doesn't pay a subscription for maps

MacOS has an expiration date that in average is 5-6 years since that particular model was put on sale. You can continue using MacOS without updates, but apps will start to complain when you're 2 versions behind and it will be almost unusable when you're 4 versions behind. Doesn't reach ten years.

Microsoft claimed that Windows is compatible with 32gb drives but that's not actually true. Those will get automatically filled by winsxs updates within a few hours. It's impossibile to use one of those windows mini PC with a 32gb emmc unless you exclusively use it offline for typing with a word processor.

All those $100 32gb emmc "computers" available on Amazon are just "direct to landfill" ewaste
