I know, I just felt the need to express my experience with him since he's involved. I wanted to show people looking into this that he's not a bad actor. When it comes to drama good things often go unsaid.
I fully believe in using a person's preferred pronouns even if they're using it in bad faith. The flip side though is that if your identity or pronoun is very uncommon or has stringent rules, you need to accept that people will accidentally get it wrong from time to time. This isn't unique to pronouns, anything from gender, sexuality, names, politics, religion, occupation, ect. the less common it is the more confusion and explaining.
We need to be accepting of mistakes otherwise we'll be unwelcoming to newcomers and we'll fracture the different branches of LGBT over "rules lawyering".
Finally I feel like I should put in a word about my brief experience with Links. I was very against non voting and we debated in the comments, but we reached a common ground and sympathized about the dire state of everything and our fears about project 2025. We didn't change each other's mind but it was a very civil and positive end to what usually becomes a heated argument online. So in my experience I believe Links was not a bad actor and vocally shared the same concerns that the queer community has.
Case in point, I had rarely heard of any of the good things Biden did during his presidency, even though he's had some good policies. It really felt like radio silence from him except when Trump was involved. It was so frustrating that our country's in decline and it just felt like getting stonewalled by the guy supposed to fix it.
Meanwhile it feels like Kamala's actually trying. I'm hearing good things about her left and right. She's only mentioning Trump when it's a direct attack to pressure him for all his evil actions.
I feel like they're desperately trying to replicate the Dean Scream to invalidate her.
Problem is, I feel like condensing a quirk into a memeable video nowadays would only accelerate a campaign. Memes are so good at marketing that brands have been trying to harness them for a while.
My ultimate hope is that Trump decoheres to the point of never having a future chance of winning but keeps running anyways, ultimately blocking the party as a whole. Karmic punishment for raising this guy to a seat of power in the first place.
"Democracy is the worst system of government, except for all the others"
I still can't find a way to disprove this statement. Popular vote inherently favors the majority as opposed to minorities and only cares about charisma. And yet, nothing else seems to beat it.
The only one I could think of is putting in a guy/AI that's really benevolent and competent this time guys I pinky swear.
Just seems like we're feeding them weapons like drugs to an addict. With how fervent the Israeli government's rhetoric has been, calling for the genocide of Palestinians and lashing out against non-zionists & Jewish people who won't comply, I feel like Israel is itself at risk of producing terrorism/more war.
Has anyone stopped to ask what will happen if they do somehow manage to take over all of Palestine? Has any conquesting nation just stopped after their first target?
I already planned on my next computer being Linux Mint, but it's getting more and more desired as time goes on.
I was playing Elden Ring when it began stuttering, turns out Windows Defender was just constantly reading the disk (I still have a hard drive). Finally turned off maximum priority (seemingly random) scans in task scheduler when I began stuttering again. This time it was Windows Compatibility Telemetry taking up 50% of the disk, until I finally found a way to turn that off.
It'd be so nice to have an OS that doesn't run random unnecessary things without your permission.
For some reason I always have a habit of scroll to the bottom of any list and reading up. Like I wanna confirm how long the list is before working my way up
Old as hell would be 4.5 billion years old when all of Earth was just a ball of lava.
