  • I don't use antivirus on Windows, let alone Linux. Just be mindful of what you're downloading and you'll be fine.

  • I'm reading Hero of Ages right now, Mistborn being my first Sanderson series. I've already purchased all of Stormlight and can't wait to start!

  • Luckily he isn't in the main Campaigns, just side stuff. But the stuff he's in he's usually the main focus (host in Talks Machina, GM in Undeadwood) so it would be impossible to edit him out of those.

  • Jesus, I remember when they announced he wouldn't be back for Talks at the start of C3, but I had no idea about any of the reasoning behind it.

Tough decision for sure, but definitely one that speaks to their integrity as creators and as a company. Best wishes to them moving forward, and hope Ashley is doing well of course.

  • It's so good

  • Thanks for reminding me to remove Honey. I've had it for a while and never used it. Went to use it a bit ago and it made my cart more expensive lmao

  • Makes it easier for people to migrate as well, if they have a bunch of subs they follow they can just search for it on Lemmy and it'll probably appear. Maybe some sort of functionality for communities to have aliases? Like if you search unixporn, this community comes up but is named whatever else. Could work

  • Most things are easy to get running in my experience, and I've never noticed performance loss. My only gripe is lack of RTX support, but I plan on switching to AMD anyway so I'm not too fussed.

Not sure what you mean by vsync being fucked?

I do keep windows installed tho, because modding Bethesda games specifically has been a major pain in the ass for me on Linux. Outside of that and a couple other minor things I play everything in Linux with little effort. Still wouldn't recommend it to the average Joe though, but I love to tinker.

  • I wanna try it but can't find it anywhere. Help!

  • Buy a whole chicken, when you're breaking it down remove and save the skins. Little oil in a pan, add your raw skins and cook until crispy. Then you also have a bunch of raw chicken and a carcass to use for whatever you want and stock.

Also, fun tip, the fat that comes off the chicken skins is schmaltz, and is really delicious. I like to put a bit into my ramen.

  • It very much looks like an iphone app. All the text and the ui elements fit apples theming and looks out of place in android.

Not to say it doesn't work well or isnt a good app, because it is, but a lot of us are looking for a unified experience.

I'm using thunder, which fits in nicely. Uses Material You theming as well

  • Wezterm looks promising, I'll give it a shot when I get home 👍👍

  • On a seperate note, I've recently started using GNOME. I like it, but it's really difficult to find a terminal emulator that matches the theming as far as title bar and window decorations go (Im not a fan of the GNOME console, it's not as easily customisable as I'd like). They've all had white title bars which clash with my dark theming. The only one I've found that works nicely is Black Box, which I have been enjoying, but I can't figure out how to blur the background (maybe I do this through the compositor prefs? I've tried setting it in blur my shell but it doesn't seem to work), so i'd like more suggestions

I've tried Kitty and Alacritty, as those are the ones I've used in the past, along with Konsole, but that seems sacrilegious so I haven't tried it with GNOME.

I'll come back and post pics of my Konsole setup on my main rig in the spirit of the post once I get home :) I use fish and custom theming

  • I like pacman/yay enough to the point that I'm hesitant to use any distro that isn't arch-based...

I was reinstalling Linux on my laptop a few days ago and was thinking about going for Fedora, but leaving the AUR behind felt like too big a trade off lmao I'm lazy as hell

So here I am with yet another install of Endeavour. I always go back to it.
