  • Meh. Almost done with llthe last of my sewing stuff to complete a contract. Won't take any more from them again. The expectations don't match the pay.

  • Update: i finished the bags, I'm getting somewhere on the website, and I just finished a brilliant movie called Memoir of a Snail. On to the quotes 🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️

  • I have too much on at the moment but there isn't a stop button to get off this wild ride, so just trying to get through it. I have some stuff to do for a mates website, bags to fix for work, quotes to sort for toy library, and then a big personal project I want to get going in the new year. There just isn't enough time in a day to get everything done

  • Thank you! This is great!

  • Those all sound great! We have a local garden club that does similar talks but only the garden club members know about them. It's a pretty niche group but I think if we got them to do some talks at our hub they would be popular. We have a member with an old projector they are giving to us so hopefully we can start soon. We were going to book in a recycling and low-waste talk through an alternative recycling centre.

  • Wow heaps of good work happening in your corner! The adult education evenings are such a great idea. Could you share more around what topics have been covered and what ones are the most popular?

  • I'm so sorry to hear about your friends living situation 😔 they are trying to bring back no-cause evictions here so I worry for a lot of my friends living with disabilities in rental situations..

So glad to hear your family have found a nice place to live and you are working on building community 🥰

  • I'm so sorry to hear about Maeko 🫂 I hope the rest of your week is filled with giggles and smiles from your wee one! That is such a fun age 🥰

  • This is great! Thanks for sharing 😊 i love clotheshorse podcast. They have a very informative instagram as well.

  • I saw this as a village to help unhoused people. I don't know how the organisation is run ethically but I think quick quality housing is pretty sweet.

  • Remember when reddit made fun of 9gag for the watermarked memes?! History doesn't repeat but it sure does rhyme

  • Thats so spcial! Creating something that will benefit their community for generations ✨️

  • I think the mods want kind of a one way gate so since beehaw has more restrictions, beehaw users could venture out unhindered but the lemmy world users wouldn't be able to post or comment here unrestricted. I dont know what will be possible but it would be nice to have some sort of whitelist where posters from other instances could be white listed. With no entry requirements, the two instances removed are really easy for trolls to create as many accounts as they would like to harass.

  • Thank you so much! I'm going to give this a go after payday and my supplies run to town. Sounds like you're in my corner of the world so do you have a recc for an unpasteurised kombucha you like?

I have a glass beehive that I think is originally from kmart but my mate found it for me at the dump.

  • You could talk with your library. Librarians tend to be super amazing at little start-ups. Just ask if they have something like this and have a couple friends who would be interested ask and they might get the ball rolling or know someone who will.

  • We have one of these in town but I haven't made use of it yet. It gets parts from the council e-waste recycling and the charity shop it shares a building with. I would love to know if they help with appliances as my oven is stuffed and I really need to get it sorted. I bake all our bread and today i waited 2 hours for it to still be underdone 🥲 I ended up finishing it at the playcentre where they have an oven that turns on and has a temperature dial and everything!

  • Ooooo that sounds so good! I would love a recipe! Did you make your own starter or get one from somewhere?

  • Yes! Feijoa fizz! That's exactly what I was thinking of making as it would be family friendly. I haven't made any wine but i was planning on trying some elderberry champagne and gorse flower champagne this spring. I won't be able to drink it myself which will be lame though 😮‍💨

  • It's so fun! This one would give you wet food treats to give the cats you would be drowning in kitty. It was the best

  • Yay home brew! I live in hops central so while i have a couple plants on the deck, it's easy enough to grab some wildling bunches by the river cycle path. I can't have any alcohol with my medications so our home brew equipment is gathering some dust atm but I've been seeing more alcohol free options so I'd like to try making my own. I have planted a hundred + feijoas so I was thinking of doing a feijoa fest and bottle sesh where we all get together, bottle, and share the spoils but I'm not sure the legalities on large-scale community food production. Something i need to sort out.

Anyways please share all your favourite home brew tips and if you have any knowledge on making some alcohol free varties let me know!
