  • Ok so I guess the old registrar were a bunch of twats, so the gov kicked them out and in the process potentially benefits from the US mil email thing.

All while doing the typical government thing of messing things up for everybody because they don't know how anything works.

    Am I right?

  • What's going on with/in Mali anyway? When I search, all the results are just about the US military email fuckup.

  • Okay. I've seen someone mention that it's not needed, but nobody seemed to care about the whole problem to elaborate. Thx.

  • Firefox bringing an actual useful feature? Not removing one? Not bringing in more telemetry and reporting? Not doing more restrictions? Not copying Chrome?

    Am I dead?

  • I guess we all fight our own useless little fights.

  • How do people even care about Reddit to log in and interact at this point?

  • This is modern art.

  • Link to lemmynsfw and we'll get double the users in one day

  • The bot's info says it mirrors Reddit content. Anime-titties was a major Reddit sub for world news or politics. Yes, really. So it's apparently just cloning content, like many other bots.

  • App store doesn't, the app itself does, that's why this thing is included in it.

    1. You click an ad on FB = you're ID'd by a cookie or login or account on the device or fingerprint or whatever (probably all of the above)
    2. You install the app from app store. Neither the bank or FB knows this.
    3. You launch the app. The integrated FB library reads the cookie or FB account on the device or whatever it can, and pings FB. FB compares this ID to the entries and finds that it was you who clicked the ad.
    4. FB bills bank for an ad click

Another option is there to be a specific FB variant of the app with its own app store entry, but they probably wouldn't do that for something this trivial.

  • I'm definitely taking that once flairs become available

  • Disable the bots? In your profile settings. Mind you some bots can be useful.

  • Bot posts are so annoying, and they are everywhere on Lemmy. RSS bots, repost bots, Reddit clone bots, sporting matches bots. Everything gets reposted 50x already and bots make it all that worse. I disabled bots so I can have peace, but now I won't get to see the actual useful bots that fix links and such.

  • One problem also is that mods can't edit someone else's post or mark it nsfw. So all we can do is delete, lock, or tell the OP to change something, and then wait and see if they will. So until these things improve, there really isn't much else we can do than ask people to mark stuff as nsfw in advance.

  • Sit down young apprentice, do you have Matrix?

  • I can't tell much about you from your profile, but if you're down, we can talk. Matrix?

  • Maybe we can train you? Where do you stand with Matrix?

  • We can work with a youngling, do you have Matrix?
