We wouldn't be able to do anything about it, that's probably the point. It would be interesting to see those discussions they have with each other... "Oh they don't feel pain like us", " We're providing them with a planet, they have good lives" etc.
10 years old? Not many keypad phones were made around that time anymore. Either way, every phone maker had their own system, so every one needed something different to get unlocked. You'd need to specify the exact model, and what exactly you need to unlock on it.
It's alright, a tad slow I guess. I think they're aiming for an epic feeling to be a buildup to something, but I can't imagine it living up to it, unless you count fanservice and getting continuation of old stories. Which may totally be enough actually.
With 8 episodes, it's not much of a risk to watch it. Certainly better than TBoBF, about comparison to Kenobi it remains to be seem yet imo.
It wouldn't for me. Idk if it's just the place I live in, but for jobs everyone is just looking for very specific skillsets you're meant to do exactly to specifications in a 9-5 job. Even when it's like IT work where nothing ever goes to plan.
Geez that was the lamest part of the whole thing. I was wondering if the character will get their arm cut off and have like a cool robotic one afterwards, or legs like Maul, but nope, stabby stabby healy walkey.
My most downvoted comment on Reddit had something like negative 800 karma. I'm proud of it lol.
Ok ngl I do like getting likes, although mostly as an indication that people read what I wrote, and I wasn't wasting my time. Especially important when it's a post I put a lot of effort into.
Downvotes... It can be two things. Sometimes it happens that I write something truly idiotic - as a mistake or because of a bad day or whatever reason, that's when I usually delete the thing to not confuse or upset people when I realise it.
Other times it turns out my comment actually turns out to be controversial. But if it's something I stand by and believe is correct, it may bother me that a large portion of people disagree. I'm not any kind of extremist, so if people do find my opinions extreme, most of the time it's just puzzling.
The origin of OK is unknown, but there are many many theories. My favourite one is that it's an abbreviated phonetisation of all correct - "ol korekt" based on some meme fad that people did at the time. Also apparently that was dock workers that were doing that, from which sailors caught it and they distributed it around the world.
Ah okay. I just vaguely remember reading about it ages ago. But as someone whose native language is gendered, I do agree with that assessment at least to a degree. Nouns do have certain tone to them which generally corresponds to their gender as well, such as what I mentioned, words ending with -a usually being feminine and just having that softer vibe than words ending on a consonant. Tho that depends on the particular language of course.
And I wouldn't underestimate the feedback loop from language to thinking in general. For example it's well documented how we remember colors is quite dependent on how they're named.
Well unless that was debunked as well, but considering both linguistics and art are my hobbies, that might shatter my entire world view heh.
If they do, then I'd try to compost it. I try to not put plastic mixed with other stuff into plastic trash. From what I hear, a high enough amount of organic material in plastic trash just means they tend to bin it with general garbage, so it's counterproductive. Again depends on how the trash company operates.
Anyway, it depends where you live, and whether the trash disposal system in your area does anything about recycling plastic at all. In so many places, all you throw into trash cans for plastics just goes into common waste anyway, so it might not be worth the bother.
Ha that's a way too, although I was pitching ntfy. I don't know much about it, but you can use it separately from IM. Foss Matrix clients just use it as a substitute for gms.
