  • If you asked to delete or alter the account, then it makes sense. To unsubscribe from emails... Well normally not but I guess it's financial information, and you can't use 2FA, so I guess it makes sense that they need to protect themselves.

If you never used a document to sign up, then it's ridiculous to ask for more information... Not sure if it's actually illegal though, as long as they handle the data correctly.

  • You people should really stop making fun of mental illnesses. All this screaming about inclusivity...

  • In the late 90's, the technology was incredible tho. The little machines were fucking monsters. A few years ago I've got a few portables from that era and even with antiskip disabled, it's super hard to make some of them skip. With it enabled, it's probably impossible without the device falling apart.

It's also interesting how even despite obvious abuse and shitty shipping, those things work perfectly. The cheap plastics and close to zero weight would suggest they wouldn't last a month, never mind 20 years.

  • There is/was something like a loudness db. I've got a bunch of CDs from the top of the charts and man that's so good.

  • If I'm disinterested to the point of annoyance, I block them, if it's just meh, I leave them unsubscribed. That way I can view either my subscribed list, or the all list if I want to see something else/random.

  • Yes that's how it works, the device needs to be connected to the net and be able to locate itself.

Some phone makers (if not most these days, idk) don't allow you to even reboot or turn off the phone without unlocking it. So it would need to be placed in a Faraday cage, run out of battery or smashed to not be findable as long as the feature is active.

  • Well since they're constant by tracking every device at all times and all the other devices and networks as well, might as well put that to good use.

  • Blocking communities is a feature in every client and frontend, while blocking instances... Isn't all that common.

But you'll have a hard time for a while browsing all by new, my blocklist is in the hundreds... Best practice is to sort by top day or top something, and subscribe to what you want, then later switch to subscribed list.

  • These have been a few but I can't find them in my blocklist, so maybe they have died.

  • If your OS doesn't support the emoji, it shows an empty or placeholder image. If you see that icon, you can copy it to clipboard and paste to search here: https://emojipedia.org/

  • Liar, Jerboa on Android is showing an old wooden wheel.

  • Sounds good, but with how the Fediverse operates, you'd be sharing all your information with everyone. It would need to be a lot more secure and reliable than it is.

  • Consumerist lifestyle of (some) richer countries leads to both of these, tho I don't see any direct relation. I guess obese people may be more likely to invest in a bigger TV, may turn up the AC more, and spend more time in hospitals hooked to machinery?

Generally speaking, electricity is mostly used up by factories and businesses.

  • Editing on WA still seems to be new, I guess there still ironing it out.

  • But windows are glass, and glass don't fold. Wait do you have one of those fancy foldable laptops? Lucky

  • Summit does too, I think

  • I know that mostly because he was really loudly against "violent" and "mindless" video games. Ya know, the guy who starred in and directed dozens of violent and mindless movies.

  • Yandex has the best reverse image search, and I think it can also identify some stuff or products in the image. I don't think it does text tho, I could be wrong.
