  • I prefer to smoke in the cigarette style and those long cardboard crutches in pre rolls are so nice. I feel like if I'm using my fingertips I have to be real aware of the cherry but between my fingers it's out of the way and ready for dramatic gesturing.

  • Reddit's sports subs were small for a long time. I think there would need to be either a sports sub exodus or a lot more lemmy users before there are enough active posters into sports discussion/gossip during the week to keep engagement up and lively between games.

I was part of the baseball sub for my local major market mlb team for years and it was really just the last three or four years it was consistently active between games and even when I left (api exodus) it was the same 30 or so people on game threads.

I am hopeful that Lemmy will eventually grow large enough to supply the numerical and geographical base for good sports stuff. It doesn't take many active participants but the 100 - 10 - 1 rule I think is much more acutely felt in less populous spaces.

  • IIRC when I took it recreationally itwas many many grams to get to the hallucinations part. It was hard to stomach. Unless the safety profile is pretty narrow I'd say it would be difficult to complete suicide with nutmeg.

  • End up like AOL and get big enough to buy time Warner and make a lot investors very rich? I feel like your downplaying the success of aol. Last I heard that whatever was left of them in Yahoo was supposedly still making money.

  • Section 230 is good overall I think it just shouldn't apply to anything sorted by engagement or not clearly defined and auditable. Section 230 makes sense for Craigslist but not for Facebook/Twitter. If a site has a "suggested posts" section or "you may like" feature they should be treated as publishers and not protected.

  • The drive runs the disk in my mind but I don't know the classroom right answer. My thought process on the matter is you insert the floppy disk into the floppy disk drive then your computer mounts it. Your hard drive runs your hard disk. Drives run disks. shrug

  • Maybe a person but I've had that happen too and didn't suspect anyone. My friend who does auto body work said it was because I never wax my truck and park in the sun. Hopefully it's the same for you. Here's to a better day!

  • They are. The ones I know mostly contract with states or federal governments to do wildland fire fighting but I've read about private firefighters operating in neighborhoods in California a few years ago.

Montana's new senator (Sheehy) made his money with a private aerial firefighting company.
