  • I bet the staff wouldn’t be struggling so much if he paid them more in the first place

People struggle when they don't get paid due to not working. This shouldn't be surprising. "Just pay them more" doesn't work here unless you want everyone to be getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars a year for every job, at which point inflation goes to 100% a year and you end up paying $5000 for an apple.

Writers, the ones complaining, get paid a shitload for their work. They get paid $100k for about 7 weeks work.....and they want more........ and they've somehow convinced the public who earn significantly less than them to stand up for them and fight to make them more money lol. One of the best grifts of all time tbh.

  • Unfortunately with the length and cost of dev time these days, basically every studio is only one less than massively successful game away from mass layoffs and/or bankruptcy.

Not good for this studio, but the game was a mess from everything I saw.

  • If you’re selling shares monthly it doesn’t matter when the announcement is, you’re going to have people questioning your sell anyway. They would not have thought about the timing in relation to automated share sells at all because it’s a non issue.

  • No it’s not. If he unloaded a huge bunch out of nowhere just before the announcement then sure, it probably is, but that’s not what happened - he has been consistently selling stock the whole year, buying none.

What likely happens is he is paid partly, or was at some stage, in stock. To convert it to cash you need to sell it.
