  • we are leaving this to Parliament so that the voice can change according to need and times.

Should there ever be a need or a time when the Indigenous voice isn't entirely made up of indigenous people? If not, why not protect that in the constitution?

  • I'm fine with proprietary software, yes. I go with the software that best meets my needs, and that's Windows. I'm not saying you can't prefer linux, I'm just giving my reasons why Windows is what most people prefer.

  • The idea that the voice is some sort of useless idea is seriously flawed.

That's your opinion. It's not mine or plenty of other peoples, including lots of indigenous people.

this is merely saying that within the framework of Australia as a country, that Aboriginals deserve access to our legislature and executive on matters that affect them.

Yeah, they just don't actually get any power over it. Gee aren't we nice for giving them the ability to say "hey nah we don't like this" before we say "tough shit, we're doing it" and there's nothing they can do.

I would hope that on the first point, its been made clear that there is real benefit to having a Voice

It hasn't, no matter how many times you want to say it has.

Id encourage those who would like to learn to listen to ideas from the referendum working group and those associated with the yes campaign on rough ideas of a Voice if this is the case

I don't care about "rough ideas", I care about knowing the actual details of the things I'm being asked to put in our constitution. Why on earth should I vote to add something to it that we have no idea what it will look like, but we know that it can just change at the whim of the current party in power?

All of these questions take significant time. If you can focus on the amendment, and whether support those ideas outside of what a future voice may look like, it will help.

Then they should have taken that time before asking us to vote on it. This didn't need to be rushed through. Any issues of timelines are caused by the people pushing for the referendum, thinking they can just bully everyone into voting yes by calling them racists, when all we want is to actually have details on what the voice will look like and what it can do. The referendum should not have been pushed without these details, and it would likely be a dramatically different result if we had what we are asking for but being told we can't have unless we vote yes.

  • i haven’t even personally seen any of these things. so no

You're not on many gaming forums then, especially not PC ones.

Windows is the best PC operating system there is because basically everything is made for it and everything works on it.

  • It’s only meaningless in the sense it doesn’t have any legislative power

Pretty massive thing that it doesn't have, and why it's pointless. There have been and still are many indigenous advisory committees, what's another one without any power actually going to do? Have a look at this one where a few of the indigenous members recently quit because, shock horror, they felt that their work on the advisory body was not being listened to or helping at all.

  • Would they? There's nothing in the proposed constituational amendment that says that the body has to be made up of indigenous people and indigenous people only.

  • lol not everyone that likes a different OS is a "stan". The meme in the OP is about windows on steam deck competitors. I'm pointing out why windows on steam deck competitors has lots of benefits. Why can't you handle that?

  • you can do this on steamos

Not with windows you can't, which is the OS the overwhelmingly large majority of people want to use.

There’s a surprising amount of older PC games that don’t work on Windows anymore, but work fine on Linux.

There's more that work and work better on Windows than Linux than there are the other way around though.

  • I'll take compatibility over sleep mode tbh. Most people play their steam decks at home anyway, so battery life isn't an issue.

The ROG Ally isn't like a laptop at all either. The difference is that you can use it as a PC if you want, unlike the steam deck running steamOS.

  • Windows plays every PC game in existence and plays them better though. It also allows you to use the device as a pc replacement via displaying the screen on a tv/monitor. It’s the best OS to go with imo.

  • The vast majority of Live Service games have zero pay to win microtransactions or barriers to progression. They’re almost all purely cosmetic microtransactions because that’s been proven to be what people want.

There was a bit of a learning curve for devs to see what people would put up with and what they wouldn’t, and stuff you describe was left on the cutting room floor years ago. Even games like COD now give you all actual content for free and just sell you cosmetics, and it’s wildly profitable for them. Selling map pack dlc got abandoned because it split the player base, whereas cosmetics don’t.
