Ok, semi serious(ish) question from Bowie's photographer.

Before I get started: Please don't put too much thought into the response, just weighing my options (I'm probably going to just succumb to the dark side and go with Windows because it's the least friction [but heck it feels slimey lately]).

Currently running Windows 10 for Steam + Game Pass + Photoshop/Lightroom

My install is starting to feel flakey and I either need to do a clean install of Windows 11 or find an alternative (Linux + with whatever game magic is running on the Steamdeck).

I could technically do the Photoshop stuff on my Intel Macbook, but that means getting a KVM switch that lets me switch between 3 machines.

So, what's the most reliable brain-dead Linux distro that's game friendly?

I have. Random outdoor cat walked over to me, demanded pets, it noticed a bird, killed the bird, and came back to me looking for more attention. I was not impressed.

I'm super happy with this one. So glad Bowie helped out.

I do a calendar for Christmas, I think this would make an awesome addition for 2025.

He even got the composition right. I was at the limit of my zoom at the other end of the pool, if I was closer I would have probably made the image too tight.

Honestly it's just hard for me to think about exposures and camera settings when doing Bowie photos, I tend to be pretty reactive.

Oh heck. I usually have to shoot around 1/800th of a second to avoid a blurry dog. Indoor I'll go as low as 1/160th because Bowie is better at posing.

To even out water I'd need to shoot a 1 second exposure at least 😄(I've tried these in the past) it's not happening 😁

Though... I do wonder if a 1/160th would be enough to even out the water a little 🤔🤔🤔 because you're right it's pretty jittery
