Ah, I see you've met my mom. She's overly concerned with the opinions of others, to my and my siblings' detriment. Meanwhile, I have a "I don't know them, why should I care what they think?" attitude, which made my youth with her so very fun /s.

Her brain is clearly still locked into an old society's ways. The things she thinks would be humiliating are things that nobody would bat an eye at today, like wearing pajamas outside. She's got her "hidden" racism too, of course. She's made comments about my partners "having dark complexions." I eventually went off on her, calling out her racist thoughts, and she's shut up about it since. Or at least, she's shut up about it when I'm around.

I didn't read it as an insult. If it was, then "lesbians" was an insult, too. It sounds like OP's just using the hate-mongers' own words.

Thank you, this was my thought as well. I'm a woman, and it took until my mid-20s (and having an experience with another woman) for me to truly learn what sex is all about. Now in my 30s, I'd say most people I date are "experienced" at sex.

A teenager messing around with another teenager has a tiny bit of "experience," but to think that's the same as the sexual experience as adult has is naive. Teenagers still think porn is accurate, whereas sexually experienced adults know what to actually do.

We use Chromebooks at my work (along with the whole Google suite), and we are bound by the rules of HIPAA. Without a way to opt out of this AI crap, I increasingly worry about what all of this means for our clients' privacy. Especially with this administration, with RFK deadset on targeting people with disabilities.

That's so messed up. Newborns are born with poor vision. "At birth, an infant is very sensitive to bright light. You may notice how small their pupils look, limiting how much light enters their eyes. It takes time for their vision to develop. From that same source, "At about 1 month, your baby may focus briefly on you, but may still prefer brightly colored objects up to 3 feet away. Infants are able to see across a room even at birth, but they are mostly interested in objects very close to them."

When I worked in a nursing home, there absolutely were residents who tried to sneak off together. I don't know if any sex actually happened (I doubt it, since these people needed assistance getting out of their wheelchairs), but people definitely got touchy-feely when they could.

There was a triad in one of the units. A quiet man, who rarely spoke and mostly chilled out by himself, managed to get two girlfriends. Sometimes they'd sit together and he'd hold each of their hands at the same time. The women would sometimes sneak a quick reach for other parts of his body, as he sat there with this big smile on his face.

I figured it was none of my business, and I guess the rest of the staff felt the same way. They were all consenting and they kept their clothes on, so if granny can cop a quick feel, who are we to judge? I was just glad they had found a way to be happy while living in such a depressing place.

I second Dr Mario. When I first went off to kindergarten, my mom and little brother would play Dr Mario together. It’s perfect for that age range, simple to play and control, with an option for two-player mode.

The first time I heard of "communists" and "socialists" was back when I was in middle school, when Bush Jr got us into war. All I did was ask why in the world we were invading Iraq, which had nothing to do with Osama Bin Laden. Sincerely trying to understand the world. That's when the already-brainwashed kids starting flinging "socialist" and "communist" like they meant the same thing as "idiot."

So, I decided to read about those concepts to see what all the hubbub was about. Surprise surprise, when I later responded to those same kids by asking what they thought the words meant, they couldn't answer the question.

Now I'm thinking it's kind of like the Streisand Effect - 'Muricans don't want you to know about how other countries run. I didn't know about systems besides capitalism yet, until the spawn of conservatives decided to use ancient fears from the 1950s as an insult in the year 2003. Surprise surprise, now there's a swath of Millennials (and other generations, of course) just like me who learned that if conservatives hate something, it's worth looking into.
