  • Conservatism — religious nationalism — can not survive with an educated population.

That's the entire reason why conservatives have been actively destroying education since the civil rights era. The MAGAzi regime would not exist today without it.

  • I swear I've seen figures that most of the EU have gone from <2-5% between 2015 and 2026/7, so I'm sure that includes most of NATO.

They better redirect those funds away from the US though, otherwise we really are screwed.

  • All those decades many of us spent warning about neoliberals and conservatives working hand in hand to build big brother FOR fascism fell on deaf ears...

My disappointment is immeasurable, and my future is ruined.

  • Nothing prevents terrorism like murdering a mans entire family... then repeating those crimes on tens of thousands of innocent people... for generations.

Israel is winning the world's hearts and minds with every war crime.

  • It's the same for every figurehead of every org, from politicians to CEO's. They can make or break a campaign/project entirely on their own, but they can't do any of it without team(s) of people supporting them, and often the team(s) supporting them are the determining factor in their entire success.

  • The Koch's are not your average CEO. They are 100% psychopaths. They have been financing libertarian propaganda since the 60's, and are more responsible for both fascism and the MAGA mental illness than Trump, McConnell or any other Republican. If you dig into their history, it's littered with examples of everything from wilfully poisoning the environment, screwing workers they gave cancer, and attempting to overthrow the US gov. I suggest the behind the bastards episode about them.

Their dad was a literal nazi; praised Hitler, Japan, and Italy in the 1930's, and considered New Zealand a socialist hellscape. They were raised by a child abusing Nazi nanny, who was such a Nazi she returned home in 1939 to be a part of Hitlers reich. Everything that came after don't get any better.

  • I see this "gerrymandering doesn't impact X" from so many Americans. It's a profoundly ignorant reductionist perspective, like they're incapable of understanding cause and effect on even the most basic level.

It's a hallmark of conservative narcissism, where they display zero empathy about anything unless it impacts them personally. It's as though they're incapable of imagination; of learning from any experience or perspective but their own.
