  • While all of this is true, and America is up there among the worst crimes in modern history, most countries histories are littered with horrific shit.

It's worth remembering that ALL of human history is atrocity and injustice galore, so despite all the horrors the last few decades are almost certainly the best and safest time to exist (for humans, not the rest of the planet). When we look back at the 50's and 60's middle classes in the west, we do so with rose tinted goggles; they were a small percentage of the human population in absolute terms. The average human globally — especially in the bottom percentiles — were much poorer, less educated, and had a lower quality of life than they do today.

  • This was true before the last 2-3 decades of globalisation, outsourcing, diversification, vertical integration, private equity, consolidation, and monopolization.

30-40 years ago most established sectors had a dozen brands across cheap, mid-market and expensive tiers. Most of the expensive brands were expensive because of consistent quality or niche. Nowadays the dozens of brands are owned by 2-4 multinationals, and there's barely any brands left that haven't been plundered and bled dry in the eternal race to the bottom for short term profit.

Pre GFC the US had 50-100 banks above a moderate size (can't member). Post GFC there were like a dozen left; nowadays there's probably half as many.

  • When you connect the dots of modern history, you realize America was most of the way to fascist dictatorship the entire time.

Many of us have been waiting for it to drop the facade for decades.

  • Several of my Reddit accounts had tens of thousands of karma, a couple exceeded 100k. I learned early on to never read any notifications/messages ever. I just navigate back to my recent comments directly and check replies in context, instead of a stream of disjointed messages and trolls being deadshits.

  • It's crystal clear they'll soon start widespread criminalization of everything they deem liberal (woke, dei, lgbtq, etc).

If you're an educated professional in America ((STEM)), you should be making moves to get the fuck out and brain drain the fascist dictatorship, because they will come for you sooner than later; especially when the economy collapses and they realize their best and brightest are fleeing to former allies en mass.

  • It's a move to spur domestic manufacturing and move the US to Autarky — straight out of Hitler's playbook; albeit an incompetent attempt because he's a mentally challenged degenerate.

Autarky isn't bad — covid highlighted the weaknesses that capitalism and globalism created for every economy — but Trumps goals are not risk mitigation or "national security", and he certainly intends for it to enable imperialist wars and conquests. The fact is the allies won WW2 largely because of US manufacturing capacity (Europes was destroyed). China could take Taiwan tomorrow and the world would have to let them as we are entirely reliant on Chinese manufacturing; they could cripple us if they halted exports.
