  • ... did you even look at that link? I'd say 25% kept, 5% compromise, 1% broken, and the rest stalled or in the works is pretty damn acceptable. But I guess you won't be happy unless he personally gives you a puppy and a blowjob.

  • I overheard a FOX broadcast last night while waiting for a pizza pickup in their lobby.

Holy crap that is awful. I remember it back in the GWB days and I don't recall it being nearly as bad as it was last night.

"Democrats don't want to understand you. They just want power." followed by cherrypicked video footage of out of context comments from some random person. "If the Democrats get in charge, they will outlaw jesus!" followed by more bad faith video footage where someone said Christianity doesn't belong in a courtroom setting.

It's like they have distilled down the essence of making your grandma scared and forcing her to vote or else her grand babies will literally get eaten alive because they weren't aborted.

  • After looking at that diagram I have to ask - why in the everliving fuck would a pressure bearing panel like that be hung by bolts and not inserted into the cabin and held in place by the ribs of the fuselage? I mean seriously?

  • It's not so hard to put it in the bank and hire a wealth management firm. They'll take care of you and tell you how much you can spend each year without losing money. It'd turn into a free $500k salary for life.

  • I used to have their card just for gas. But I sold my truck and have an EV now. Maybe it's time to close that account because costco is truly a detriment to my after tax take home pay.

Except their premium canned peanuts. God those are good. The stuff at the grocery store is always stale and 4x the price per weight.

  • The big manufacturers (specifically, the ones listed by OP) change their battery connectors and voltages every 10 or so years in order to re-patent the shapes to make them the sole suppliers of usable batteries. People that work on job sites need batteries that are intrinsically safe and robust enough to get thrown around or smashed by other heavy tools. So those packs have to be really overbuilt.

Luckily the major design patents are about to run out and a third party will swoop in and free us from the tool manufacturer battery tyranny.

  • You do you. But I would like to point out that prime encourages excessive consumption of crap we all don't need. Maybe this bullshit will let you consider dumping prime altogether and perhaps you will find that it isn't missed.

Personally I do buy stuff from amazon on occasion. Like windshield wipers of odd sizes. But the lack of two day shipping is a good moderator to help me curb my american programmed buy-fucking-everything-to-fill-that-hole-inside mentality.

  • Yeah that's the case with programming.... well anything. This at least gives you a way to automatically receive all of that data from any app without excessive prior knowledge. With a small amount of info you can filter for specific events and create all kinds of robust functionality. That's the power of a set protocol - it is to make things widely compatible with one another by only depending on the dbus protocol and app name. Otherwise you may need to depend on some shared objects which makes deployment and maintenance a total clusterfuck.
