  • Did he use public transit? I thought the first thing I heard is people thought he used a rental bike but it turned out it wasn't one of those. But yeah even if he did I think basically what he did was ride from the scene of the crime into Central Park which has less CCTV and is a lot harder to track people in so it probably took longer for the police to find his trail from there.

  • Yeah normally I would feel the same way about this FOMO style of marketing but normally in that case it's the company selling it deciding to like remove it from sale to create the FOMO need. In the case it's another company basically forcing this decision on them so I don't think it's bad to let people buy it for cheaper while they still can.

  • I haven't met any anti-vaxers who still get flu shots unless it's the people who are specifically against the covid vaccines because of them being mandatory and "experimental". But yeah they definitely benefitted from getting those shots as a kid and even if they didn't they still benefitted from everyone else getting them due to herd immunity.

  • I think there's also a component of if you have earned enough money to be a billionaire you have to have been doing some level of exploitation since a billion is such an unfathomably big number. You're either like Bezos where you exploit your workers to make big profits or you're like Musk where you exploit the government for subsidies and contracts.

  • I live in the USA and I use Mint Mobile, I pay $20 a month for 15gb of data a month along with unlimited texts and calls. That was about the cheapest plan I could find for one person while still having a reasonable amount of data. It generally works pretty good although I have noticed sometimes especially if I'm at a busy place it can be a bit slow but that makes sense since they're just using other companies networks. I've also had a lot less issues now that I've set up Wi-Fi texting and calling correctly as I didn't realize I had to enable it in the Mint Mobile app for it to actually work correctly.

  • I didn't know about those earlier comments so fair enough that people don't like him for that. At least more recently though he seems to be pushing hard for an arms embargo which would be a genuinely good thing to apply pressure on Israel. Not sure if that's some kind of change in opinion or if he just is against the way they're going so aggressive with it now and is more in favor of the liberal Zionists. But I think either way your original comment about him being in favor of sending weapons to Israel is wrong as he quite literally voted to stop doing that and led that effort in the Senate.

  • Yeah I almost had that happen with me but I think I ended up watching someone play it. Still kind of regret it but at the same time probably wouldn't have finished it on my own otherwise and I atleast have Deltarune to look forward to now.

  • He doesn't even need to do that, he just needs to add enough doubt about whether America would actually help defend NATO if Article 5 is invoked, which he has already been doing, to make it so the rest of NATO can't really do anything.

  • That makes sense considering in the past knowing who your town's baker or other role was mattered. Now a days you don't really know the names of the people you get food and things from so it's shifted now to more relationship based.

  • What are you even talking about? They are making concrete demands, one of them being an arms embargo which Kamala has said won't happen. The way a deal works is if the other side doesn't accept your offer you don't just cave and perform your side of the bargain. And judging by the fact that Kamala hasn't proposed anything other than the same vague support for a ceasefire Biden has shown they haven't even tried to push for anything else that might satisfy this constituency.

  • I think the main worry is an escalation not to a full blown WWIII style full nuclear exchange but to using tactical nukes against Ukraine. We haven't really seen that used yet and if Putin thinks he might lose this I don't know if he would decide to do it. And once that precedent is set that you can do that there's no putting that back away. This isn't to say that giving them this permission is bad or shouldn't be done, this is just a risk to consider and would be a risk with any strategy that allows Ukraine to attempt to win the conflict.

  • You can still get that by just playing very small indie games. There's tons of small games out there being made by just a handful or even one person that have these kinds of little fun things scattered throughout them. They are harder to find by their nature but that culture is still very much alive in the indie space.
