It's so nice having a stable OS to fall back to on for those rare occasions where I screw something up on my arch laptop my arch laptop magically borks itself (How did that happen? Who could have done this?).
The problem is that other 10% where I have to spend my time trawling the arch wiki to fix my OS instead of like... doing cool things on my computer. If that's what you enjoy that's great, but your hobby is not my hobby. I've used arch on several of my devices, it can be great! But there's this idea that arch is the perfect solution to pretty much everyone's desktop problems and it's crazymaking to see repeated over and over on here.
Nah it's not you, FreeCAD is perfectly usable for something like the above referenced knob but even mid-size assemblies really have problems. I personally find the workflow to be bad and irritating beyond my ability to express in words and I can't imagine how frustrating it would be as a new user to work it out for yourself while at the same time getting used to thinking of objects as collections of operations. It's a great lightweight program for people who already know what they're doing and that value FOSS, though. 1.0 really fixed a ton of the issues, but it still has the "Blender UX" problem that seems to plague all big FOSS projects...
They have been performing horribly quarter to quarter lately, and so pretty much all of their product lines have had shit like this happen. Nerf has no springs and shoddy plastic, Wizards of the Coast are dropping a ton of middling-popular products from production, even their Marvel line has really taken a hit to quality with bad fabrics, cheap printing, etc. Everything is being cut to the barest minimum to try and claw back their profitability.
... It's stunning they can't seem to connect the dots, really.
What does the relative pay scale of union vs non-union teachers have to do with anything? The point has been that unions are not magic ways to increase wages across a sector if wages are stagnant for both union and non union workers.
Wage stagnation can affect unions just as much as anyone else. If you want an example, look at how little teachers get paid despite having one of the largest unions in the country, with an extremely high percentage of professionals having membership. Unions cannot magically make an entire sector start paying more, that's just not how anything works.

I know many many artists, and none of them would resist an offer to do what they're passionate about in exchange for lots of money. Or to do what they're not very passionate about in exchange for lots of money. Or even something they downright hate doing, in exchange for lots of money. Having lots of money means you can invest in those things you are passionate about.
My partner was in the top 99% 1% of performers on onlyfans for several years (according to onlyfans' metrics, which actually are surprisingly accurate since it involves reporting financial information). At the peak she was making about $150/month. It really drove home that the number of people who actually make any substantial amount of money on any platform like this is shockingly low.
People would never set foot in a hospital again if they found out how many orthopedic surgeries involve a dewalt drill at some point.
