By mugshot standards Jenna Ellis looks damn good. Kenneth Chesebro, Sidney Powell, David Shafer, Cathy Latham, and Harrison Floyd look like pretty respectable mug shots also. I mean Ray Smith has what I would expect most mug shots to look like. I don’t understand the critique with these. Especially Jenna, that shit looks better than any other government photo I’ve ever had taken and none of mine have been mug shots. I mean I’m ugly but still. I have a hard time believing it wouldn’t go into a top 100 list of best mug shots, the “photographer” and web cam showed up for that one just as much as she did.
This person is passionately against something they have convinced themselves they fully understand without having any real idea wtf they are talking about. Reading his comments is reminiscent of my mother arguing to me that cost of living isn’t real, such pointless garbage and she gets upset unless you just nod your head and act enlightened somehow. Reading his comments, he’s convinced himself of how the credit rating system is bad, likely reinforced by misunderstood anecdotal evidence and other ignorant people sharing their anecdotal misunderstood experiences, or even made up hogwash. So much so that he digs his heels in and refuses to learn anything that would even allow him to form a valid critique against the credit rating system, preferring instead to be convinced he is infallible and enlightened while loudly spewing confidently incorrect bullshit.
This is the setup I’m using. I ordered a tablet as a dedicated device and looking forward to it getting here. We’re all iOS phones and tablets so I needed something else. In the Meantime I have an old android phone I tested it with but it has a swollen battery that split the back open so I’d rather replace it and I’m pretty sure a decent tablet would be snappier so it’s been an investment but only a couple hundred bucks total. I’ve cut paramount, Disney, appletv, hbomax, Hulu, and faith & family. I had no reason for all the bs and it just really crept up on me over a few years after I got a good job. I’m keeping Netflix because I like the standup comedian stuff, it’s only $7 with T-Mobile, and I’ve also made a mint on them in stock so w/e.
The only thing I haven’t been able to find was my kids wanted to watch elemental. I’d love some more categories to find stuff when I’m in a mood but not sure what to watch. Was thinking maybe theirs a website I could find that would do that better anyway though and just search for it once I find it.
My understanding is that it generates waves that cancel out the sound waves so your ear drums are actually receiving more sound pressure than without the noise canceling headphones even though you don’t hear the sound.
Since mr fantasy land can’t find it in himself to thank you for all the knowledge you shared in this interaction I wanted to make sure I took the time to. Thank you, I learned a great deal from your comments and your ability to communicate information is superb.
Lists can be cached and updated. Even if posts from all doesn’t include all active content it would be very manageable to have queries include communities across instances based on names and other fields. All this shit is already solved problems.
Based on my reading of the other comments here their is a huge push against this type of functionality from folks that understand the service better than I do. I doubt any contributions from an outside perspective would be at all welcomed.
So many options, doing none seems lazy. I can source all kinds of lists for my pihole to block traffic. I can put a lot of repos in my yum.conf. It’s not like this should be reliant on any one single source of truth. There could certainly be an open source list maintained. I’m surprised this is considered such a difficult problem with so many smart folks involved, I’m obviously really ignorant to how this stuff works. I just don’t get how a problem that seems to have been solved across a litany of technical products using shared sources in defederated environments is such an exotic hurdle here.
Looks to me like lemmy explorer could just be sourced for results fairly easy. Even if it was just added as an additional source to the default listings. Similar to setting up yum repos etcetera. Is there a good reason this isn’t a thing? I know my use and exposure to communities is severely limited by the current cluster fuck of finding communities. I just don’t care enough to go further than searching in the app and closing out if nothing shows up. I realize my laziness contributes to my user experience but saying an instance doesn’t know what’s out there and then providing a site that will let me search for what’s out there doesn’t seem logical.
The diver was my point also. Nobody that primarily cared about the well being of those kids would behave way Musk did. All he cares about was trying to play hero for the optics and when it went wrong, for his ego, his mask came off.
