  • Not to mention that any problems caused by green bubble lack of compatibility are Apple's fault, not Android's.

  • May I ask if there will be a way to disable de NSFW blur?

  • New instances would have a lower voting weight by default.

  • No need to make all federation under a whitelist. It's enough to ignore votes from suspicious instances or reduce their weight.

  • This. It's only a matter of time until we can automatically detected vote manipulation. Furthermore, there's a possibility that in future versions we can decrease the weight of votes coming from certain instances that might be suspicious.

  • This used to be possible with Xposed framework, but I don't know if that is still a thing.

  • Woah I saw troll face and then I stopped seeing him.

  • But... But... What about that 3D tour of the colosseum? That rocked.

If you click on the house in the top right and type in "lemmy.world" you'll make the links open up in your home instance so you can subscribe.

  • Last I heard they were already suspended. Doesn't fit into Meta's corporate Disney world.

  • Tell your instance admin to restart the Lemmy service every so often. We have ours restart every six hours since that fixes the hot thing breaking and getting stale.

Larger instances might not be able to restart often as it could leave some interactions in limbo.

  • Who, me? Or furries in general? :0

  • I don know why there's so many furry memes on Lemmy Shitpost, but I'm loving it. Also because it allows me to cross post to the furry memes community :P

  • Defederation requests need to be on a cool down timer Benoit they're considered unless there's an immediate threat. Otherwise it opens up the doors to using the equivalent of a nuke in impulsive decisions or pressure. Your instance admin might at this very moment be thinking about this even if they're not vocal about it.

Threads won't federate any time soon and even when they do, I suspect they'll operate in whitelist mode. All my instances allow NSFW content, which threads doesn't.

But in general, just because admins aren't defederating yet does not mean that they'll just wait and see.

  • Yes. It has both a whitelist federation only mode and a completely private mode.

  • Adguard works by setting up a virtual VPN and blocking adds that go through it.
