Any specific things you think I should prioritize first and then build out from?

I do like the idea of a federated passport essentially, where your subdomain acts as verification it is you.

Thanks for the response. Realistically what am I looking at if I want to do a weekly blog post, and then mostly only posting comments on the various service?

I figure if it is possible to have the actual website not publicly visible, sort of like everything is behind a paywall, but everything behind that pay wall still gets posted to the various services, this just preventing website traffic.

I get that it is the most organic thing you have ever felt, but that should be itself something that makes you raise an eyebrow.

A foreign language service that does not cater to you, in a language you don't speak, and theoretically has none of your prior data is perfectly catering a social media experience tailored individually to you, and doing it on a level that no corporation who has been targeting and grooming you for 20 years has been able to achieve.

Either your comment itself is inorganic and mere advertising promising impossibilities, or you are a genuine person offering such extreme praise but we need to be skeptical here.

You aren't saying the app is good. You are saying it is the best experience you have ever been provided, and if that is the case, this app has some explaining to do on how they achieved that.

TikTok's US consumer base is about 136 million if my memory of what was said on NPR a couple mornings ago is accurate.

Meta has replaced third places, public square and community directories and then sells that access to other media.

It is a conflict of interest for the community directors themselves to profiting off things which harm the community.

To the best of my knowledge, Mastodon does not have that conflict of interest.

I have noticed this as well. Back during the early facebook years, a "news" outlet would just generate content by posting stories like "Greenville ranked as the city with highest crime rate" every week or so.

Everybody on my facebook feed would go crazy saying things like "I always knew that town was dangerous, but to hear it outranks New York? TERRIFYING!"

Only issue is that this outlet would have 50 different URLs for the article, all giving a city in a different state (always an immigrant heavy suburb) and those articles would be appear around facebook and nobody would know the wiser.

It costs almost nothing for them to rewrite the world and your perspective about it. The granularity they are now capable of should give us pause.

Traditional media was nothing like this. It wasn't so granular, it couldn't create individual realities for individual users.

I'm not sure you guys bear the moral responsibility for Kamala losing, but I do think there is an argument to make for bearing moral responsibility to helping ensure more death happened.

Liberals are trustworthy in the sense that whatever progressive policies they are capable of enacting will be done so with the assurance that grandma's access to medication will not be impeded.

If a billionaire wants to buy a swimming pool, he needs a considerable amount of other people to be able to afford swimming pools or it it becomes impossible for him to get one at all eventually.

To have a swimming pool, there needs to be an industry of specialized labororers who can manufacture and install. There has to be electricians who specialize in mixing water and electricity. There has to be people working the factories where the chlorine gets manufactured and bottled.

This is true for every product that billionaires consume. You really gotta think that these people with all this wealth would have people on the payroll pointing this out to them.
