  • I think it was designed to make profit off of making people upset.

But more specifically, you almost have to respect it. Target the same audience that still refuses to admit that James O'Keefe stole their money and watch the money roll in.

Right wingers love shit like this and will invent a backlash just to donate even more money to the business owner.

  • When I was in school, every child who purchased a school lunch from the cafeteria was legally required to be given the choice of milk, chocolate milk, or soy milk.

We even had a "local" farm who had a contract with the school district to have milk vending machines that sold 20 ounce bottles of strawberry, mocha, etc milks. That lasted until the district signed a contract with Pepsi, who was then granted the right to have their beverages be the only drinks to be sold in vending machines.

  • I think it was Will Summers who stated that, "Qanon begins with a hospital bill you can't ever pay."

We can mock them for their stupidity, but when stupid people are facing trauma like bankruptcy or divorce, or a child's death, etc., conspiracy theory communities are the easiest to find. They're on the radio, the television, the Facebook and the YouTube.

Its even a wise decision for a stupid person to join a community willing to accept their reality over the ones who both point out their stupidity, even if we are the path most likely to actually help them solve their traumas.

  • I disagree.

We know what META is about and what they do. We came here because we didn't want to be treated as products and used as experiments constantly watched by "AI algorithm".

The smartest thing anybody ever said to me is, "don't let a pimp have access to the battered woman's shelter."

Almost all of us are here because we have either always thought that, or grew to think that.

  • You want to take out the guy who through diplomacy has limited the amount of deaths to 30 something thousand, and make way for the guy who wants to finish the job?

Sounds like you are more pro-genocide of Palestinians than Biden is.

  • If I realized you would take offense at the word I used to describe how you choose to spend your time, I wouldn't have used the word.

I'm not criticizing you for what you are doing. I think you have done a lot of good. I just think you are very forgiving of awful behavior among people who hold the same beliefs you do, when you should realize they respect you and likely wouldn't engage I'm that behavior if you chose to say something.

  • If the only credible path you get to choose is 30 something thousand civilian casualties, or complete annihilation of those civilians, not choosing the prevention of complete annihilation places a moral fault on you.

  • Go ahead. I'm mostly on your side of the conflict. Largely because of the work you have put in here. You are respected here and have changed minds.

I just think if arguing against pro-Israel people the second they step out of line is going to be your hobby, you should be doing the same when you see it coming from your own side.

  • If it isn't your job to somehow find a way to speak out against the most milquetoast barely pro-Israel comments made on Lemmy, it's certainly at least your hobby.

I just think you could put 1% of your time here towards speaking out against the comments you see that are wrong when they come from your side.

But, partisanism is like a drug.
