  • Fallout 3 was Bethesda's last good game. Morrowind might be extremely dated, but at least it had character. Oblivion had character, but it marked the start of the over streamlining they wanted to do. Skyrim was so fucking bland. It was one step forward and six steps back.

I have heard how meh starfield is. I played the intro and it just shit out a bunch of generic sounding sci-fi buzz word soup. Meh

  • I broke my One Plus 7 Pro and now have a Galaxy S21 Ultra, and while I don't hate it, I don't think I'll be getting another samsung

However, I will say, Samsung keyboard is legitimately the best Andorid keyboard overal. I'll probably be installing it onto my next phone. But, like, it's sad that that's the only nice thing I can say about it.

It's not a bad phone, and I bought it used, but Samsung is just so bloaty. I'd much rather a stock experience than their software

  • You could get a Pico and have it sent to the Chinese government instead. Much further away from home

As far as stand alone HMD's go, unless they make an android or Linux based system with an unlocked bootloader, none of them are safe for privacy. I was hoping there would be custom ROMs that could be flashed but nope

  • On that subject, I don't know how much I'd value a "stand alone" vs just a wireless PCVR headset from valve. I've stayed away from the Index because of the need for base stations and the $1000 price point.

I bought a Quest 3 and while I actually really like the hardware, the stand alone games are just meh. Im spending way more time using it as a wireless PCVR headset for flat to vr mods than any dedicated Quest games.

  • Also where is the button to make steamvr the openxr default? I was using the beta and there just wasn't one like there was in SVR 1

As someone who uses a Quest, I occasionally have to swap it to occulous and even VirtualDesktop has their own now.

  • Im fairly certain there was an incident with a french dude who posted a bunch of pro ISIS stuff on Facebook and ended up doing something violent, but I only find articles about ISIS using Facebook to target young people for recruitment.

  • There's a good reason their instances are defederated and they are shunned. They had a nasty habit of brigading and spamming

And their explanations usually amount to "Russia and China aren't actually bad, it's every other country on earth has conspired to make them look bad"
