  • Yeah I picked one up the first time they were on sale about a year ago. Absolutely love it. Realized my Pc is no where near vr ready ended up buying a quest just to have more Vr. I wasn’t expecting the quality to be so different. The VR2 headset is truly amazing.

  • There are some great games idk what you’re talking about.

1 and 2 aren’t personally a problem for me I prefer the rubber gasket to the cloth on my meta headset but if you run hot I could see that being a problem.

3 though, I’ve been really enjoying the newish Alien Game, walkabout mini golf (of course), the resident evils… I mean yeah the library is limited but in no way are the “good” games sucking. The ones I just listed ruled.

If I ever upgrade my ancient PC I’m really looking forward to using this headset on PC.

  • Looking at the ratio of my downvotes I guess here haha.

I’ve thought about how to respond to your comment for a while. I don’t want to “out” some niche communities here for being toxic. That just perpetuates the problem I’m complaining about. So instead a non niche example are the Nintendo and video game general communities here are overwhelmingly negative compared to their reddit equivalents.

  • I own a large 8k Samsung TV I normally play ps5 on. I don’t think I like HDR is what I’m learning. For my birthday recently I was gifted a ps portal ( I think my wife wants me off the tv lol) the screen honestly looked better than the TV to me. I figure I must have the HDR settings all wrong. I don’t know what else it could be. I think pc gaming in genral likes tinkering, I just like things to work. I was shocked how much better my games looked on this little 1080 screen. It was wild honestly.

I’ll probably pick up a switch 2 because I like Mario Kart. The game will end up looking good enough for me.

Overall I agree with your statement but not the sentiment they are being as cheap as possible. I think they are just recognizing that some stuff doesn’t mater to everyone.

And honestly people pushing graphics above all else miss out on good games anyway.

  • Oh yeah no selling myself short I’ve been bragging about the tractor non stop in real life. Huge deal saved tons of money. And it’s an antique John Deere so it’s really cool. I shared the story so that people here would realize I was being sincere.

  • Just out of curiosity how often do you end up actually repairing things?

Like I also factor repairs into my purchase choices but anymore I don’t remember the last thing I worked on that was an electronic. I did get a broken tractor up and running but it was “free” so that barely counts.

The reason I’m asking is I have this conflicting value versus my actual actions.

  • Yeah I was bored the other day and opened up a niche reddit community and I was just floored at how positive everyone was versus the same community here. But I digress I imagine it’s going to be phases and I’ll continue to try and be positive.
