  • Yeah I must say vulkan would've been sweet. But apple is big enough to mane metal work I guess... Time will tell, but I've never been closing to jumping aboard the apple train. Even though it kinda feels weird to me just thinking about it haha

  • I am a PC/Android user, always have been. I am a hard apple hater, I've tried to keep up with the new devices though, and I've also repaired them in the past. I hate apple mostly due to just not liking to be locked on my device (lack of customization but that has been getting better AFAIK), the fact that the phone feels boring, the overpricing, the not friendly right to repair, the stupid lightning ports (Thanks EU), the "elitist" feeling...

But god damn are these new SOCs making me reconsider... I was already very pleasantly surprised with the Mac computers recently. I think apple silicon is just waaaay ahead at the moment. If competition doesn't catch up somehow soon, I think apple's monopoly will only grow.

Also, AMD over Nvidia. Not saying it's better, but I'll always go team red. Just like Apple, I hate nvidia's business practices.

  • Yeah, I'm honestly concerned since my parents' political views changed radically the last 5~10 years or so. They were super loving and caring. Now they're very "paranoid" about things that shouldn't really leave them that stressed and xenophobic bordering full on racism. Overall gender related topics topics, random news on Facebook, immigrants...

I think that, if my parents that were so understanding and caring about everything and everyone, can somehow have their opinion change drastically in 5-10 years, what's preventing that from happening to me, or my generation, down the road? I'm not trying to say that every gen X or boomer thinks that same way though. But a lot of them have grown more "resentful" I guess...

Yeah, computers and Internet aren't their expertise so maybe they're more likely to fall for fake news and clickbaity titles designed to infuriate them and generate views.

But who knows what's coming? Maybe there's something else coming up that my generation will be too "boomer" to understand. Maybe we'll fuck up everything without even noticing we're doing it until it's too late. Maybe I'm just being too paranoid myself.

  • My parents are (early) Gen X. In general I don't think you are transparent or ignored. I'm not saying this isn't your case though.

I appreciate my parents and even though they are "outdated" on some stuff, I value them immensely. For instance, if it wasn't for my dad I likely would never have gotten into omputers. And that would've led me not have my current job (probably). I owe everything to them.

In fact, in my country at least (not US), I'm pretty sure Boomers + Gen X make up the majority of the voting power due to declining birth/death rates. (These stats are 100% pulled out of my ass, so they can very well be wrong.)

So, if anything you're the ones who hold more power (again, in my country at least).

What I'm trying to say is, things aren't as black and white as this stupid memes make them seem. We're all collectively messed up somehow. :)

  • I think I haven't slept as little as these past few weeks. 🥲

Get off work, play NMS for 3 to 4 hours and have dinner. Join my brother for BG3 co-op. Look at the time and suddenly it's 1am. Start getting stuff ready to leave only to get lost on some side quest... When I finally have enough it's 3am...

  • Hey!

What do you mean you can't co-op? I'm playing with my friend and we're actually a party of 3

I'm on steam, he's on gamepass on PC, and his SO is on gamepass on xbox. So considering all this madness works, I don't see why you should have issues :(

Let me know if I can help you somehow :)

  • Currently playing Baldur's Gate 3, 2 player co-op and it's been an absolute blast.

Recently a friend started playing No Man's Sky and I joined in to help him get started and give him some tips... Only to get re-addicted to it myself so now I'm split between BG3 and NMS 🥲

  • As a gw2 veteran (in the sense of owning the game for a long time, not that I am very good at it) I'm pretty sure you'll like it! I honestly feel sad for how overlooked GW2 is...

The community is great, don't be afraid to ask for help if you're stuck on a quest or a puzzle. More often than not people will go out of their way to help you!

Never heard of skill up but now I'm curious about their review :)

Edit: I haven't tried the new Xpack yet, but I've heard it's great! Might buy it later on discount since I'm not planning on playing for a couple of months at least.

  • Yep... I just loved Diablo too much but I guess this was the last time...

I am curious how this acquisition from Microsoft will go though. I don't think it can get worse so maybe it'll get slightly better.

    heavily breathes in hopium

  • I never thought about the camera but that could be one of the things that bothers me, now that I think about it...

I thought that with season 1 I'd be more hyped to play it, but it seemed so shite I couldn't bring myself to playing it... And now, knowing that there'll be expansions yearly, I don't think I'll ever bother lol.

  • I agree with you, but unfortunately that's the reality today. Having been raised playing DII with my dad, Diablo is too big of a franchise for me to skip because of live services.

I completely respect that though. I hope one day live services will be gone or optional. But that's not very likely...

  • You're right. I didn't even buy it pre order because I hate doing that and never will. So, after the game was launched, I watched some streams, the game seemed fun and no really big complaints anywhere. A couple of friends also bought the game, and told me it was fun.

And, to be honest, they weren't wrong. The game WAS fun... Until you end the story and it's just boring.

I played on both betas too and did enjoy the gameplay and such. Couldn't wait for more of the story...

So that's how I ended up buying it 1week or so after release.

  • Honestly, having know this I wouldn't have bought D4 in the first place.

It was expensive as fuck for a game that I played a week at most, and got boring. Not saying the game isn't great on some aspects. The story and graphics are amazing but... other than that it's not that interesting late game.

Spending 60€+ on a game that has battle passes and an ingame shop on top of it, for them to add one expansion a year after, yearly? Wtf

It's true what they say. Blizzard has gotten greed af.

This has probably been the last game I will ever buy from them. There are already Diablo 4 private servers, I think I'll just wait until those catch up with those expansions...

(reposting from the D4 community since this community is larger and likely will have more discussion here)

  • I've read an article that they were about to get a lot more common outside of the US. Apparently they can better "tune" emissions that way and since there are heavy fines and a lot of control going forward that's the argument they are using.

Also apparently manual gears are more expensive to manufacture, I think. Again I read this on an article sometime ago so it could just be BS, I can't seem to find which it was.

Imo, they just want to greenwash this change. In reality they can save money and improve scalability and just standardize everything.

  • Yeah, I've noticed I do feel more at ease on my living room now. But the only console I own is a Nintendo switch and I games that aren't multiplayer bore me faster, and switch's multiplayer games don't really speak to me too much...

Well you could in theory, use XPadder or something like that to play with a remote controller on PC. It's not ideal by any means though...

With that + steam streaming to the TV App (just add the game as non steam) you could play WoW. Not anything competitive though lol. Just questing simple stuff or easier dungeon content.
