It's a pretty typical part of their style. Often they're wearing ties. Sometimes even a suit.

Customers tend to view quality more holistically than that, though. Not a lot of people are going to flip their conception of product quality on a single change, but will after a long series of changes. Once a company gets that reputation for poor quality, it's not as simple as reversing the last corner they cut. It's a hole that takes a lot of changes to dig out of. More than most companies are willing to reverse.

I'd call them weird like you would the ultra fundamentalist Christian old guys that go to college campuses and yell at people. It's not weird in a good way. It's just fucking strange. Like something is legitimately wrong with them.

To be fair, they haven't stopped using hard language either. They released a statement after his "you won't have to vote ever again" rambling with very direct warnings about how dangerous he is and has been. "Weird" is just another line of attack, hoping to cut in a way that might resonate with some more than the (imo rightful) high stakes talk.

My understanding of the ruling is that, no, a law cannot do this. The ruling is mostly a separation of powers argument. Basically, if the president is not above the law then that means that Congress can override the Constitution by writing a law that, for example, makes the President's constitutional duties illegal. Therefore, the president is allowed to officially do anything he wants limited only by the Constitution.

Obligatory: this is not an endorsement of the ruling and IANAL. It's an awful ruling and terrible for the present and future of our country. It's a violation of primary ideals of democracy and it needs to be overturned ASAP.

That's true BUT casual/subconscious racism and sexism is extremely common in American culture. The fact is that there is a double standard for women and minorities that most people hold to at least some extent. It's been studied time and time again that there are things that white men can do that are viewed negatively when done by a woman/minority. And that's going to affect this election.

Harris is not the country's leader yet. She is likely to be selected as the candidate by the Democratic party, but ultimately the party is a private organization that can do basically whatever it wants to select that candidate. That's not fascism. That's freedom of association. In the end, nobody has to vote for the Democrats nor the Republicans. Anybody can be on the ballot with enough popular support, no party needed.

Parties hold primaries because, ultimately, they need votes to win an election and primaries help gauge the people who will be voting. At the time of the primaries, the voters still overwhelmingly selected Biden. But in the time since, polls show large majorities of those voters support both Biden's departure and Harris as the replacement. So this is still likely the right move if the party is trying to appeal to the public.

If stopping genocide is your biggest issue, I suggest going to rail against in it right-wing spaces instead. There's a lot more pro-genocide to stop there.

I don't think you need to be a diehard to recognize that handing the keys over to a frail old person is an easy choice to handing them over to a felon fraudster. It's crazy that this is even a question.

I never said story games are shallow. But if the games you like are ones where you can feel like you've experienced all the game and the story has to offer in a single playthrough then they are, by definition, shallow. Even a great movie is worth watching multiple times of its story has any appreciable depth. Video games, even more so since there should be more to the story to experience.

Sounds like what you enjoy are shallow, linear story games. To each their own, of course. Glad you're happy with what PS5 offers you in that regard. But the industry has a lot more to offer than that.

I'm in the same boat (as far as free time goes) but I have the opposite outlook. Strategy games, and other games with some amount of crunchy complexity, keep me engaged even when I'm not playing. I can spend some time on wikis, crafting theories, and cooking up plans throughout the week and that keeps me coming back.

I can't do story games because it's too easy to forget what's going on when you spread it out that far. Or there's online action games (shooters, mobas, etc) but it's rare that I can guarantee I'll be on long enough to complete a match.

Guns may not cause the mental health issues that make people turn violent, but they do allow violent people to become mass murderers. Video games do neither.

I'm not sure how anybody can look at the way GTA 5 online was monetized to hell and not seriously question how far they're going to try to go with GTA 6. I'm fully expecting it to leak into GTA 6's single player with an intense focus on getting more and more out of mtx.
