  • The owner hurt the dog by walking it without a leash and not having enough control over it to keep it from running into traffic. It speaks to your good character that you feel guilt over what happened, but you are not responsible and should not beat yourself up over it.

  • Got IT training during my time in the military that ended up opening the door to a network engineer position with a defense contractor after I got out.

I was a pretty poor engineer, but I was good at explaining technical details to non-technical people. The bosses liked this because they wanted constant updates on what was happening, the other engineers liked this because they didn't want the bosses to bother them, and I liked it because going to sit in briefings got me out of doing real work, so I ended up in management.

  • I'm leaning towards horrible. If your tips are tax-free, I'm gonna cut your wages. What do you care? Go out there and make more tips! Shake that money maker, honey!

And why should waitresses and bar staff have all the luck? Doesn't everyone deserve tax-free tips? Tip your grocery cashier! Tip your nurse! Tip the guy at the bank who approves the loan you need to afford giving tips to everyone, as the weight of providing a living to everyone you interact with shifts away from the business owners and shareholders and onto your shoulders!

  • I don't think anyone is really clear what you're saying, even though we seem to be on the same side. You seem to be suggesting that the hypocrisy isn't the real problem, it's that he once did this thing and now claims that it's wrong for others to do it. And that's literally the textbook definition of hypocrisy: the practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one's own behavior does not conform.

JD Vance claims dressing in drag is morally wrong yet he himself has dressed in drag in the past. That makes him a hypocrite. That's the hypocrisy that people are pointing out. I don't know what counter-argument you're trying to put forward.

I am slowly giving up hope of politics; Hitler is after all the Chosen One of his people. I do not believe that he is in the least bit shaky, I am slowly beginning to think that his regime can really still last for decades. There is so much lethargy in the German people and so much immorality and above all so much stupidity.
