Can we please stop pretending Obsidian post acquisition is a dinghy independent studio rather that the real cog in the metastatic tumor that is the Microsoft machine? The game credits ~1.2k people, that's 4x the studio size. There's 0 excuses for how mediocre Avowed is, especially when they charge 70€ for it! BG3 in contrast has a bigger professional credit while costing the consumer less 10€ and being an excellent game. Good management is not churning out mediocre shovelware while charging AAA prices.
100%, had they spent the money on the game that they wasted on marketing they may have released something good.
Instead they prefer to feed a bunch of sock puppets on reddit and here to show up every time one of the MS studios games are mentioned. The cope is real. I can't believe that Avowed cost as much as BG3 to make, it's insane the mammoth gap between the quality of both games in every aspect. And BG3 was sold on PC for 10€ less than Avowed on launch...
It's a 300 strong studio, Pentiment and Grounded are simple side projects (pentiment was great, grounded too) that have a minute scope and could well be developed by a handful of people (see Valheim, Stardew, etc) that leaves an entire studio to develop their overpromised and underdelivered AAA shovelware to boost the ranks of Gamepass while charging 70€ on steam to milk the fans of PoE. In 6y a 300 people strong studio backed by one of the richest companies on earth and charging AAA sales price, is manifestly little and woeful mismanagement. Luckily, most people didn't fall for the culture war BS from the US and the game hasn't sold (or was returned) for shit, which means they will likely do a better job with outer worlds 2, hopefully...
Very likely mismanagement. We can look at recent releases like Avowed, 6y in development and extremely simple mechanically and with a very narrow breadth. The world is incredibly static. I truly hope that's not the case for FABLE.
100% with you, plus, with spotify premium you still get shitty ads on podcasts (that also do ad reads like hello fresh...) so there's no advantage at all at listening to podcasts on spotify. I also find their media library management to be clunky at best so a dedicated podcast app is a far better option IMHO.
Good, they have dominance because they bribe and cheat. When all else fails, they outright buy the competition. We can't have that, that's not capitalism, it's oligarchy.
It's a complicated issue. In an extremely financialised economy like in western societies, a non insignificant portion of labour was detoured from productive useful work into entertainment and services. This labour is becoming more and more replaceable by NNs which threatens the jobs of bloggers, influencers, artists and the like. Personally, I think the negative sentiment is a mix of these people having privileged access to spread their message and the incompetence of governments legislating so that all these economic sectors don't eschew workers resulting in massive unemployment and a further degradation of standards of living for a big slice of society.
Taking all that into consideration, I can't help but feel a slight schadenfreude due to these sectors of society having hijacked the blue collar class struggle and shifting the left towards movements that are predominantly defending bourgeois causes and leaving the working class behind. I happily see more and more artists talking of unionisation and labour movements. Perhaps we can go back to mainstreaming relevant left wing talking points like minimum wages, labour unions, workers rights, et al. Group issues, rather than bourgeois issues that focus mostly on individuals.
Government is only in the clutches of MS because MS bribes officials to maintain their cancerous software as a staple everywhere in Europe... Hungary is one of a few quite famous cases of bribery.
There's no depth to my loathing of MS and its illegal and anti-competitive practices.
For simplicity and ease of use (also shipped with NV drivers) Bazzite.
It's not as ease of use if you want to fiddle with stuff but as a turnkey solution it's the best out there IMHO, it's geared to non savvy users, it comes with everything pre-packaged OOTB (or gives you the option to run an install script for it) and it just works for the most part. Highly recommend going with KDE and Plasma.
That's not to the detriment of other distros (don't torch my house Arch fans), just that, bazzite really invested into the UX and it shows.
The range is poor by design, keeping the vehicle price low while having still a steep margin due to cheaping out on the battery. This way urban affluent populations get the e vehicle while the rural populations get the benzin one since the electric version is borderline useless in a rural setting. Its a sad state of affairs. Regarding the rest, I couldn't disagree more, had a completely opposite experience with the 208 E.
The industry can go fuck itself. Actors, Football players, CEOs et al, don't need to earn 25M€ per year. Spend less in wages for those cunts and you'll see profitability rise without geoblocking.
