  • Yes Shaun Maguire is a racist, that's obvious. Heck he specifically mentioned the Islam.

But that doesn't mean people should continue this trend by saying crap like this

White people get really triggered by uppity brown people.

That was what I was responding to since the comment of Shaun was about the religion

It’s literally a virtue to lie if it advances his Islamist agenda

  • Well DVD's are yes, but Blu-rays are rare second hand. Heck, they are rare online and in stores, at least in NL and the parts of Europe I can order from.

As far as I know, the libraries here don't really store a lot of movies and games any more.

These days I just use the arr stack .... Doesn't work for most of my music though.

I hate subscriptions with a passion and only pay for a couple that are needed (domain, website, bitwarden, Proton, etc), but for things like music, physical is way more expensive than Spotify (especially now with the family discount and I get it for free), buying the album of every band I listen to at least one song of. Finding a Green Day CD for a couple euro is possible, but even for things like Kensington it is already quickly 10 euro per album. Heck Discogs even has issues realising that Europe is not a country ...

  • Probably because businesses themselves want all their applications connected so one doing the administration is easier (and better) and there is more management information.

Then again, there are still a ton of bookkeepers and accountants (especially in the US) wasting your money on reconciling bank transactions more than once a year when the bank connector is foolproof

  • Stop making shit about race or skin if you want to beat racism

Edit: The post is about people who are anti-Islam, an increasing trend about a growing religion. It has nothing to do with the colour of people's skin. Making it about that doesn't help get more to realise that racism is wrong. Generalising all white people will put some people off from going against morons like Shaun Maguire.

  • It really depends on what people consider to be loot boxes imo, yes the traditional Tf2 once or the CSGO once which blew this hole thing open yes.

But does it stop with loot goblins in a game like Borderlands? Or does it stop with Magic the Gathering packs (which are required to play sealed/draft).

Actual gambling involves being able to lose your money and get nothing in return, with loot boxes you always get something. The predatory tactics against children need to stop, but there is no reason that an adult is allowed to gamble, but not open loot boxes.

  • If it just shares if you are 18+ or not or heck even if it shares my birthday idc. It's a non realistic identifier if it is only that.

It's way better than having to share your ID what is currently the case when you buy alcohol or drugs online or want to gamble online.

  • The system is not going to revolve around your ID or passport. The entire point is to make something different, we already have some systems in place that only share part of your personal info.

In NL we already have iDIN and DigiD which are only verification tools, iDIN is used for sharing your name, address, birthday and a couple other things so that would share way to much for this purpose and DigiD shares even more. iDIN uses your bank app and DigiD has it's own app and they show you what data is shared to the site.

I wouldn't want to use one of these things directly siince most people will not read that small list (it's literally just one sentence plus what data is shared in words).

But if we get another app which can only be used to share our birthday it is fine imo. For me personally the year would be fine, or you can do it so it shares if you are 18 or above.

  • Falling off your bike and cracking your head open or breaking something or whatever. I used to bike through somewhere where not a lot of people would pass by.

Or even worse, get hit by a tractor who didn't see you and not be found until later, which can cause permanent damage. Happened to somebody I know sadly, she is disabled for life now. Yes, the person in the tractor should have been more careful and have seen her, but you can hit somebody with one of those and not notice it.

I also never said they should use the phone to call the parents, you can also call 112 with those.

  • In a lot of cases yes, but things like Truenas Bitwarden are paid by enterprise users and the community versions help them with spreading word about the software and helping signal bugs etc.

Yes they can also turn to shit, but generally the consumer markt is so slim that they don;t care
