Tuta is located in Germany which has more power to look into your data than the Swiss government, but it's mhe.
Also what separation of power do you mean? Proton is also owned by a non profit and Tuta is just a Gmbh which is owned by two individuals it seems. Changing something regarding the non profit or the structure is pretty hard to do
Tuta is however more open with that you can find their annual report or at least part of it if you want.
Many of those are caused by people having insecure accounts without enabling 2FA etc.
And there is a lot of money involved, even the top TF2 accounts are worth tens of thousands of euro's
Proton didn't decide anything, Andy Yen posted ONE tweet and then doubled down on it with the Proton Reddit account which was deleted.
I know the US is really into this "us vs them" or Republicans against the Democrats or whatever you want to and that is fair, that's how US policies sadly work which is also one of the reasons why the country is basically corrupt.
For most people agreeing with one statement a politician made doesn't mean anything. I can agree with some things Geert Wilders said, but that doesn't mean Ill vote for him.
There are other articles about the whole situation, but I believe that the Tweet says more than the bullshit some people have been shouting on every post regarding Proton. Share the Tweet yes, but don't share the bullshit.
What does politics even have to do with a ruling like this? Isn't the law separated from the government in the US? Or is the US just a corrupt country that allow people to influence the judges ruling to impact the lawsuit in a certain outcome ... O wait ...
Proton itself never directly commited on anything from Trump in a positive way.
Their current CEO Andy Yen posted this Tweet. Yes he is an idiot and even doubled down on it with the Proton account
Now I am not from a country with a 2 party system, but last time I checked agreeing with one statement from somebody doesn't mean you support them. Heck finding common ground is often a way to find compromises.
Do what you want and don't support them if you don't want them, but don't act like the company Proton is a Trump supporter. Heck there are a lot of articles on the Proton site which are pro privacy and pro consumer.
Dual booting Linux and Windows can really help to move your operation to Linux. I have been using Linux machiens besides my main for a while and now in the proces of moving to Mint.
I won’t be able to move everything and some things are more annoying (like Nvdia GPU drivers), but the vast majority is easy.
Especially because most people these days work in browsers for the most part. I (and probably you from the sound of it) are one of the few who still use a lot of desktop apps.
It has been a bit since I tried it, but things like not having the buttons in the same place is annoying when teacher others. PowerQuery and Microsoft Scripts (what replaced VBA) are some things will probably be missing
There are some cultures that are so female unfriendly it isn't funny, some of that has to do with religion and some of that doesn't. That's also one of the harsh realities of combating things like this because some people actually grew up and learn that women and worth less or some other kind of bullshit.
The other side of this coin is that in books and articles like this and heck even your comment only women get victimized or men get targeted. Yes statistically men are way more the cause of (sexual) abuse, misogyny or whatnot. Same with that women have it statistically worse partially because of some culture and partially because some people are just dicks and/or sick in their head.
Some men (especially gay's, minorities and insecure people) get (sexually_ abused by women or other men, but that generally flies under the radar way more since they are often not believed.
That's why I always feel the need to mention it just incase it helps somebody down the line.
Let's do better together!
If you have a 10 year old Linux intall you wouldn't want that to go away either. That has nothing to do with the OS.
Stop being so "aggressive" against people's and let them have their own opinion. It is not helping to get others to get to Linux. What does help is to show people how it can be done.
I tried to download Microsoft Office on Linux Mint and I couldn't even download the exe (to run through wine), I needed to go to Windows to download it ... now I just need to make it work (I am in the 1% of people who actually need official Excel)
